Pentagon Issues Rules To Address Extremism In The Military

Washington Post: Pentagon updates rules to address extremism in the military

The Pentagon is updating its personnel policies to address a concerning rise of extremism within the military and hold service members accountable for the views they express on social media, officials said Monday.

The rules stem from revelations that military personnel and veterans were among those who attacked the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.

Upon taking office this year, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin pledged to study how prevalent the problem may be and take steps to eliminate it.

Senior U.S. defense officials said the Pentagon’s approach will not expressly prohibit membership in extremist groups — and does not target particular ideologies or political leanings, despite the prevalence of right-wing groups that participated in the Capitol attack.

Instead, it focuses on addressing “actions” and will rely in large part on individual service members or outside law enforcement agencies to report concerning behavior.

Good luck for that! It depends a lot of the percentage in each side. This warning can make more people on the "bad" side just by feeling they are not alone.

The WaPo article contradicts itself about three times. And the Kirby flack is a liar.

If any service member states out loud he voted for Trump, his career advancement is sunk and he's placed on a watch list. If he posts anything disagreeable to US political officers, he's drummed out or arrested.

The US Mil is obsessed with controlling the political thoughts of its members. And purging or persecuting anyone who voices conservative ideas. Accomplishing the goal of removing the warriors and replacing them with mentally ill and physically weak people who have no business anywhere near heavy weapons or sensitive information.

Replacing the ranks with a fighting force who hates their own country.

The entire senior US Mil leadership is a product of this insane philosophy and is a threat to national security.

With Wokeism--the very definition of extremism--not to mention Critical Race Theory, now in the process of being mainstreamed by the military, one need not guess where this "policy change" is going. The noose is getting tighter as the politicalization of the military continues apace. While China has its eyes on no less than the prize, over here we're busy majoring in the minors. It's almost to the point of no return. Once the military and law enforcement dominos have fallen, it's over, folks.

Do not ask who you voted for.
Just ask if vaccinated

This will all go away when we are attacked by China and lose horribly, surrendering our troops and bases. Japan a satellite of China, South Korea devestated and overrun by the North. The fleet- whats left of it- is back in San Diego nursing its wounds since Pearl, Guam and Australia will be devestated.

We are a broken country that will not pull together like WW1 and WW2.

America might pull together only if Chinas cyberattacks cut off our WIFI. Unable to stare at screens playing dumb games or watching porn would be horrible. We might fight for that.

the post asks about extremism. Those who vote for Trump are mostly unvaccinated. We do not ask who you vote for. But the military can ask if vaccinated (they have records), and Blacks in the military are more likely to be vaccinated than those not in the military.

the "extremists", meaning those who believe that there are only 2 genders

no, 11e:29
that is not what Homeland Security and the FBI is warning about nor did those you refer to attempt to overturn the election Jan 6. If you do not know better, then try to learn

or military does not teach critical race theory

"Those who vote for Trump are mostly unvaccinated. We do not ask who you vote for. "

There is no survey of voters, which I am aware. What has been done is to use proxy data, which uses summary data. When you have a summary statistic, while you get statistic, it also obscures data at the same time. In a red county it could be the black community that is not getting vaxxed at a high rate than the white population or Trump voters.

They have not drilled down into the various communities in the counties.

Drilling down into data is not something a person with 17 or 18 years of terrible education would do.

What's extreme and destructive is the treason and corruption among the highest ranks, civilian and military

And unless you clean house no money will save you and no one will join you, for you are led by demons

I joined the Navy because I'm gay.

It's the gayest service.

I mean they're all gay, but the Navy especially.

The Department of Homeland Security is warning law enforcement agencies that recent news is helping “right-wing extremist groups” recruit new members and could lead to violence, and warns about the possible recruitment and radicalization of returning veterans.

DHS’ Office of Intelligence and Analysis issued an intelligence assessment last week that said it has no specific information that domestic right-wing terrorists are currently planning acts of violence, but right-wing extremists may be gaining new recruits by playing on fears about the recession and the election of the first African American president. The office called them “unique drivers for right-wing radicalization and recruitment.”

and 650 right-wingers, ie Trump suppolrtersm arrested thus far and a number of them have pled guilty
