little babies need to be reassured
They are babies. They have made many wrong decisions. If they were not babies, being small countries they would need nonetheless to be reassured. France and Britain were worried scared or concerned with Russia back in the early 19th century. Nothing has changed since then except Britain and France have gotten smaller and weaker.
Troops of victorious or soon to be victorious armies need to be reassured. So where are going with this.
On another note if you need a carrier on station to deter an enemy, then may be the problem is n not as much as the troops at hand but the leaders who are not respected. That is the carriers could be pulled, the sailors, marines and air men not treated like cogs, if the national leaders had the proper temperament and and deportment. The enemy would be just as dissuaded.
It is one thing to expect for the duration in war. For the duration is to be expected in peace. What will that cost you? Actually for having gone to a liberal arts college instead of a military academy Milley does not know. Sad.
Too bad the Euros don't have enough carrier groups between them to reassure ANYONE.
What are our European "allies" doing to reassure us? If we're attacked, will they/can they have our backs? From the looks of it, I would say a resounding no.
