U.S. And Iran Pessimistic On Reaching A Nuclear Deal

Reuters: U.S. and Iran pessimistic about reviving nuclear deal

VIENNA/STOCKHOLM (Reuters) -The United States and Iran both sounded pessimistic on Thursday about the chances of reviving the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, with Washington saying it had little cause for optimism and Tehran questioning the determination of U.S. and European negotiators.

"I have to tell you, recent moves, recent rhetoric, don't give us a lot of cause for ... optimism," U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken told reporters in Stockholm, saying he could judge in a day or so if Iran would engage in good faith.

Blinken made the comments after Iran provided the European powers who are shuttling between U.S. and Iranian officials in Vienna with drafts on sanctions removal and nuclear commitments, as world powers and Tehran seek to reinstate the tattered pact.

I wonder what actions the US nuclear superpower might be willing to engage in for the host of nuclear disarmament conferences (and co-sponsor of the NPT Treaty).

Trump got it right again

how so?
did he magically stop Iran from working on nukes? nope

Trump stopped their economy enough that Iran had to cut back on donations to Hamas. Houthis and Hezbollah. The Iranian economy is moribund. The Ayatollahs have to go further down the totalitarian road but without money. They are at greater risk of being toppled, which was the point of the whole exercise. You have been schooled.

Joe on the other hand wants to give money to Iran so they can buy batons, tear gas, bullets, execution chambers.

You upset that Khameini has no money in the budget to buy you a baton.

Whatever you think trump did, Biden has made no change and the broken agreement is the same. As for how Trump harmed Iran with sanctions, those were and still are in place and Iran has moved steadily toward producing nukes and they still fund terror groups by dealing in dope and cryptocurrency

Biden does not want and is not giving money to Iran. What money years ago was given was Iran's and was given back to get an agreement which Trump then broke. Now, I assume and imagine you do too that Iran will not abide honestly with any agreement. But if there is an agreement and they violate it, then we are fully justified in bombing them. No agreement and we bomb?we become the agressors

"What money years ago was given was Iran's and was given back to get an agreement"

Sure about that? Much of the money was in paper and was transferred under the cover of darkness. So was it just the money held in escrow or was it escrow plus some more? Obama should have done, if he was going to do it, via electronic funds transfer with the whole world watching. He did not.

Iran did break the deal before the ink was dry on the agreement. So what the fuck are you talking about Willis?

Obama signed his name to an international treaty and did not submit the treaty to the senate for approval. So Trump broke no treaty that the US recognized.
