Task & Purpose: The world’s most advanced fighter jet is already having a very rough year
It's only January... The new year has started with two mishaps for the extremely expensive and notoriously buggy F-35 Joint Strike Fighter: One sank into the South China Sea and another made a belly landing after it was hit by a bird.
On Monday, a Navy F-35C from Carrier Air Wing 2 suffered a “landing mishap” while on the deck of the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson. Seven sailors were injured, including the pilot who was forced to eject when the aircraft fell from the deck of the carrier into the South China Sea, where the USS Carl Vinson has been operating along with USS Abraham Lincoln and other Navy vessels. This was the first deployment for the F-35 aboard an aircraft carrier.

2022 Is Shaping Up To A Bad Year For The F-35 Fighter Jet?
Was the landing mishap from a loss of power, bad piloting or bad day for the pilot? During quals for an airwing, sometimes you can hear about the air boss not liking a how a particular pilot and their judged ability to land or trap safely.
If it was pilot error ad it is a minority, we will never hear about it just like US citizens are not supposed illegal aliens being dispersed around the country in buses and commercial jets.
Seems the only country doing good with these panes is Israel
