CDC Director Rochelle Walensky contradicted Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor's incorrect claim that there are 100,000 pediatric COVID hospitalizations on Sunday.
Justice Sotomayor, a liberal Associate Justice appointed by former president Obama, exaggerated the number of severe COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations among children as she attempted to convince conservative Supreme Court justices that President Joe Biden's vaccine mandate for businesses should be enforced.

I would like to hear Justice Sotomayor admit her mistake. So would many others, I feel certain.
If Sotomayor admitted her mistake, people might question her judgment. they might wonder what she is doing on the SCOTUS bench. So she will do nothing and hope it blows over. Of course another reason and one that everyone suffers from time to time is ego.
Sotomayor could explain she read a bad article or misremembered. That might soften the poor image, but it is a gamble. She won't take it.
