U.S. Air Force Having Recruiting Problems

Lt. Col. (Dr.) Noel Colls, United States Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron "Thunderbirds" flight surgeon delivers the Oath of Enlistment to future airmen during an enlistment ceremony at the “New York International Air Show” in New Windsor, New York, Aug. 28, 2021. Along with performing demonstrations at air shows the Thunderbirds engage in recruitment opportunities with local recruits. (U.S. Air Force Photo/SSgt Laurel Richards).

Task & Purpose: Air Force recruiting is in the toilet and senior leaders are sounding the alarm

"Houston, we have a problem.”

Between the COVID-19 pandemic, a low number of eligible recruits and a low unemployment rate, the Air Force recruiting service will have a tough time hitting its goals for fiscal year 2022, Maj. Gen. Edward Thomas Jr. said in a memo leaked to social media on Monday.

Specifically, the number of people on the Air Force’s ‘Qualified and Waiting’ list, the list of recruits waiting for a spot in a certain career field to open up, “is about half of what it has historically been,” Thomas wrote in the memo, which was posted to the popular Facebook page Air Force amn/nco/snco. The “lead conversion,” the rate at which interested possible recruits actually sign the dotted line, is also down, Thomas said.

Maybe young men would prefer to join your grandpa's Air Force. I can't imagine Gregory Peck in 12 O'clock High or Richard Todd in The Dam Busters giving their speeches to their combat crews & leading their squadrons into battle wearing a frock, high heels & lipy. Imagine Slim Pickens in Doctor Strangelove riding the nuke in a cocktail dress. Keep ducking 🙉

Do you have your outfits to donate?

maybe it is the "experts" who said we need to mandate the injection of a foreign unnatural concoction into the the bodies of people who are not at risk of dying from the virus thing. a concoction that neither protects you from getting the disease or transmitting a disease and has the most negative side effects of any vaccine ever created and administered. You know, what those experts say.

Not while you're wearing them!

Woke culture, vaccine mandates, and terrible leadership at the top. What's not to love?

only a fool does not know the difference between getting protected from the worst outcomes from the virus and getting the virus and having an easy and short time of getting well. The vaccine and death are not an either/or. If you think otherwise, then check the data.

Not surprised considering the communist, tattooed, fat snowflake uneducated losers being churned out by the poisonous culture that is now ascendant in the USA.

Well the RAF encourages all genres and everyone to join and serve as girlies in frilly knickers, heels, pigtails, ribbons, dresses and lippy. They don't have a recruiting problem. Women with beards and manly tattoos too. Perhaps all commentators here and the USAF should try 'the look' themselves. Just think of the aircraft nosework paintings that could inspire!
