U.S. Reports 1.13 Million COVID Cases On Monday, Shattering A Global Record

Daily Mail: Covid hospitalizations hit record high of 132,646 and cases triple over the past two weeks but deaths remain low after CDC director Rochelle Walensky said 75% of people who die of the virus have at least four comorbidities

* Covid cases in the US have tripled over the past two weeks, up to over 700,000 per day, as the nation continues to suffer record surge

* Deaths have not followed the same trend, though, only increasing 10% with the CDC chief saying almost all are among people with four or more comorbidities

* On average, 130,000 Americans are hospitalized with Covid every day, though many people are likely just testing positive for Covid when going in for treatment on something else

* Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla says the virus will likely be around for the next decade, but his company's booster shots will be able to 'control' the pandemic

* The variant is already showing signs of burning out in England and Denmark, though, a positive sign for the U.S. going forward

* A separate study finds that the Omicron variant could have a lower death rate than the yearly flu, and rarely cause severe illness

The United States has reached a new record for number of Americans hospitalized with Covid, with 132,646 currently admitted with the virus. It is yet another marker set during the U.S.'s record, Omicron-fueled, virus surge.

Despite rising hospitalizations, though, not as many Americans are dying from the virus as were in previous surges. However, not all of these hospitalizations are directly caused by the virus.

Many people who go to the hospital for reason outside of Covid, such as injury or other ailments, are being tested while there.

Deaths growing at a slower rate with 1,648 Americans dying from the virus every day - an 11 percent increase from two weeks ago. This signals either the effectiveness of the vaccines, or the more mild nature of the new strain.

COVID surges across the less-vaccinated South: Mississippi records 702% increase in cases and Texas sees a 678% jump

but deaths STILL remain low

Ibn other news, the Mexican president got COVID for the 2nrd time. Adults normally get colds 3 or 4 times a year so ... shocker!

Putin Bless him, but WNU is doing the Kremlin's work.

I'm so sooo scared, please oh please keep pushing more fear porn on us, so we all get scared and can be manipulated to give up human rights, bodily autonomy, our wealth and property and soon even our voting rights...

And I love how you all pit us against another, a classical sign of true democratic leadership, and not of a coup at all

:D
