Even as daily new COVID cases set all-time records and hospitals fill up, epidemiologists have arrived at a perhaps surprising consensus. Yes, the latest Omicron variant of the novel coronavirus is bad. But it could have been a lot worse.
Even as cases have surged, deaths haven’t—at least not to the same degree. Omicron is highly transmissible but generally not as severe as some older variants—“lineages” is the scientific term.
We got lucky. But that luck might not hold. Many of the same epidemiologists who have breathed a sigh of relief over Omicron’s relatively low death rate are anticipating that the next lineage might be much worse.

I remember the CDC putting out weekly data that showed deaths and deaths where the patient also had the flu. This was in 2020. Was very common. Seems like they're trying to make something new out of what has been an ongoing thing.
I keep coming back to this site but WNU keeps posting from sites who publish cia and globalist propaganda. The Daily Beast!!! really. Before the politicization of the cold and flu WNU was a great site. I used to glean good world info. WNU is so much more worldly than I and i used to cherish his opinion. But now he seems so blue pilled. always going to the same sources for info and comment. the same sources who have proven over and over to be unapologetically wrong and clearly "push outlets" for whomever is trying to diminish the intelligence of the average human.
Just ignore the obvious propaganda and covid fear porn posts. This is still a great blog. Despite the average commenter here having little use for the daily covid graph it doesn't hurt to stay informed on what the average simpleton is being spoon-fed every day.

I will concur with 6:18.
As 8:09 has pointed out corona is confounded with influenza, which is due to a combination of incompetence, ignorance and malice. In the later half of this flu season or next winter's flue season, the CDC should be able to tell us who died of influenza only, corona only or influenza and corona. Or so they tell us wit the new contract for test that con detect influenza, corona and may one other virus.
You can thank Saint Obama for the epidemics, He helped open the flood gates of illegals, who came to the US with unknown diseases. The Feds forced medicals staff treating illegals (the ones we caught) to sign nondisclosure agreements. Joe (Obama 3) did one better. They are no longer testing or treating hardly any of the illegals, but they are busing and flying them to a city near you.
Omicron is a weak virus,. It kills at a much lower rate than other corona viruses, So in a way it is an inoculation. But Democrats are using it to scare people are as an excuse not to work. So the Daily Beast and CBS stories are informative., You knw what the leftards are up to.

The PCR tests (see investor's response to those, ie Dr Mullis warned the world about the false positives this would create) and the counting of flu deaths on top were used to panick you into submission and acceptance of taking drugs they told you were vaccines. They lied to you about everything from detection to treatment.
Once you truly understand this you understand why I call for capital punishment (legally) followed by digging of shallow graves for these traitors and worse
