President Biden Deploys More U.S. Soldiers To Poland

Politico: U.S. sending 3,000 more troops to Poland amid fresh Ukraine invasion warnings

Officials in the U.S. and the U.K. are telling their citizens to leave Ukraine immediately. The U.S. is sending 3,000 more troops to Poland as the Biden administration issued new warnings that Russia was poised to invade Ukraine at any moment.

Washington and London, meanwhile, are urging their citizens to leave Ukraine immediately.

The alarms were the most strident to date of a crisis that began last fall as Russia significantly built up troops along the Ukrainian border, and they came as diplomatic efforts to convince Russian President Vladimir Putin to abandon thoughts of invasion appear to, at best, have stalled out.

The Russians are getting us to borrow allot of money to do this weakening us even further. In contrast, being close to home and with high oil prices not only can the Russians easily afford this but tensions create "uncertainty" which has an effect of raising oil prices even more making Russia even more money. To make matters even worse, should a shooting war ensue, it's hard for me to envision a scenario where the Ukrainian military lasts very long. Essentially any weapons or weapons systems we provide them will end up under the control of the Russians and their allies very quickly. As we're already in Cold War 2, such an outcome would not be good for us.

Our leadership class should never take up high dollar poker. They would be quite bad at it.

The first article linked in WNU's comment about F-16's is interesting and goes in to a lot more than mentioned.
