Moscow Times/AFP: Moscow and Kyiv Call for Talks Amid Intense Shellfire
Ukraine and Russia both called Sunday for intensified diplomatic efforts to avert all-out war, but blamed each other for a sharp escalation in shelling on Kyiv's frontline with Moscow-backed separatists.
After separate calls with France's President Emmanuel Macron, both Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelenskiy pressed for more talks.
Washington is warning a Russian invasion of Ukraine is imminent, and Macron's office had dubbed the calls "the last possible and necessary efforts to avoid a major conflict in Ukraine."

It looks like some progress is happening.

What a joke! The last 5 hours discussion between Putin and Macron, Macron said that Putin agree for not escalating...we see now.
Putin is fobbing Marron off. The French would be better off if Macron pleasured himself instead of playing footsie with Putin.
Putin has 700,000 refugees. Putin created them, but nonetheless they6 are refugees and long term they are a source of discontent, and a financial drain.
This only goes one way now.
Things are peaceful during a phony war, but it is an illusion. Blinken, Ned Price and the rest are "pulling all the levers" and achieving nothing expect to impress Putin with their lack of wisdom and courage.
The first round of elections in France are April 22nd. Macron has his eye on the ball, his political survivability. Form means more than substance.
Putin already contradicted and humiliated Macron once in the last seven days, which really does not matter if Macron gets reelected. Humiliation nor the survival of Ukraine matters. Macron's political survival does.
