U.S. National Security Adviser Says A Russian Attack On Ukraine Could Come 'Any Time Now'

ABC News: WH national security adviser says there's a 'very distinct' possibility of Russian attack on Ukraine

Jake Sullivan said an attack could come "any time now."

As the standoff between Russia and the United States continues, White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan warned of a "very distinct" possibility Russia will attack Ukraine at "any time now."

"We believe that there is a very distinct possibility that Vladimir Putin will order an attack on Ukraine. It could take a number of different forms. It could happen as soon as tomorrow or it could take some weeks yet," Sullivan said in an interview with ABC "This Week" Co-Anchor Martha Raddatz on Sunday.

Russia isn't going to invade. They just want to drive up oil prices and expose NATO for having fractured and weak leadership which Putin has already accomplished. Add in the fact that the west has increased their energy dependence on Russia and they call the shots as it pertains to Europe. If Biden truly wanted to get Russia's attention, he'd immediately open back up the Keystone Pipeline and all other oil drilling operations. That is the only thing that'll get Putin's attention.

The Ukrainian president contradicted the US? Really?

Two reasons have ben given for The Ukraine presidents statements

1) He does not want to spook business and this decrease commerce leading to a poorer population and no government tax receipts. Russia could literally spook Ukrainian markets often and long enough, so that Ukraine starts in an Ukrainian death spiral. This could be the main strategy (Plan A) of the Kremlin. Eventually Russia spooks business in Ukraine enough that Ukraine becomes ungovernable and Putin swoops in as the saviour.

2) Another explanation is Zelensky does not want to provoke the Russians or give them a pretext.

Just because Ned Price is an arrogant jerk, who is all that and a bag of chips and who is stumbling in a press conference, does not mean that there is no proof.

Hypothetically, if the CIA had 5 moles, they could bring the one, who knows about this, in from the cold. And still have 4 left over to continue ops. On the other hand, the CIA only has 1 mole, they would be loathe to do so. There would be be poor Ned Price holding the company line without support.

Maybe the Americans have cracked Russian crypto. You always suspect that people may, have, or going to crack your crypto. If your enemy says your up to something, you do not know f they are making a wild guess, an educated guess or have the goods. If the American would publish intercepted docs, the Russians would probably know or very strongly suspect and change their code books leaving the CIA once more in the dark.

All very Captain Obvious stuff.

Or it could be an administration suspecting a Russian attack, has indications, but not enough proof and goes out on a limb.

Or it could be an administration trying to look tough to distract.

Hard to tell.

Buck up Caecus. I loathe you as much as Ned Price. You're special.
