Daily Mail: Biden REMOVES some Iran sanctions imposed by Trump - including unfreezing $29B in bank accounts overseas - in bid to return to Obama-era deal that three negotiators have resigned over

* The Biden administration on Friday restored a sanctions waiver to Iran

* Indirect talks between the United States and Iran on returning to the 2015 nuclear agreement has entered the final stretch

* One official said it was not a signal Washington was reaching an understanding to return to the deal formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action

* Waivers allowed foreign companies to carry out non-proliferation work to make it harder for Iranian nuclear sites to be used for weapons development

* Waivers were rescinded by the United States in 2019 and 2020 under former President Donald Trump, who pulled out of the nuclear agreement

* The United States and Iran have held eight rounds of indirect talks in Vienna since April aimed at reinstating the pact that lifted sanctions against Tehran

* There has been no formal announcement on when the ninth round would start, but expectations intensified that it could be next week

* After Trump pulled the United States out of the deal in 2018 and reimposed harsh sanctions, Iran gradually started violating the pact's nuclear curbs

* Western diplomats now worry that its nuclear advancement leaves a very narrow window of time to return to the deal

The US State Department is waiving sanctions on Iran's civilian nuclear program in the hope that Tehran will return to the 2015 nuclear agreement, a senior official said Friday.

As U.S. negotiators head back to Vienna for what could be a make-or-break session, Secretary of State Antony Blinken signed several sanctions waivers related to Iran's civilian nuclear activities.

The move reverses the Trump administration's decision to rescind them.

The resumption of the waiver, ended by Trump in 2020, 'would be essential to ensuring Iran's swift compliance' if a new deal on controlling Tehran's nuclear program can be reached in talks in Vienna, the State Department official said.

Yeah, no surprise. Iran will still go full speed ahead and now have some extra cash to do additional things. This administration is so moronic. Biden wants another talking point for his SOTU obviously.

Biden, Austin, Milley, Kamala, Obama, Klain, Sullivan, Ned Price, Blinken and the rest of them are jokes.

There were 6 rounds of negotiations before The end of last year. Are we on round 7, 8 or 9 with this relaxation of sanctions?

If the US is not going to put its foot down with Iran, a regional power, why would a superpower like Russia believe that the US would stand firm against them?

At least Biden has at least half an excuse for being a moron. What is the excuse of the other people listed above?

They almost seem to want Iran to get nuclear weapons. Of course Israel will never allow it. I wonder how our leadership class is going to react when Israel eliminates Iran's nuclear weapons program?

Actually, I think I know. Rightly or wrongly and wrongly in my considered opinion the US leadership class feels extremely guilty about what happened in Iran in the early 1950s and wishes to alleviate that guilt and wants to appease the Iranian bully at our expense.

Haha holy shit remember when everyone lost their minds over 3-4 billion dollars being returned.

Iran already has nuclear weapon(s). Iran has worked with Pakistan and North Korea, who have nuclear weapons. Unless the Iranian scientists are shit for brains, which they are not, or lousy transcriptionists, they have the plans.

If you are a shithead and many people in DC are, you might think centrifuges are the only path forward. There are two other ways physical chemists use to separate isotopes. There are two other ways and there are plenty of military sites that were off limits to inspections. Obama sold us down the river.

There are numerous reports that suggest this. Obvuously they're not directed against Israel or they'd have long been eliminated.

The greatest threat to America right now is a multitude of suitcase nuclear weapons detonated simultaneously across multiple metropolitan areas. While it isn't the most dangerous threat, it is the most likeky one. Iranian nuclear weapons could be a part of this.
After all getting them past our ridiculous border security would be quite easy. Even getting the components necessary to produce the weapons right here in America will be quite easy.

It's very likely Iran has nukes. As long as they aren't deployed against Israel, the Israelis aren't going to help us. Why should they? Our needlessly and ridiculously anti-Israel behavior has been beyond stupid!!

The Iranians could be waiting for the correct time to detonate such weapons. After some have suggested the Iranians are master chess players. The utter stupidity of US support for Ukraine is a gift to them and other US adversaries that just keeps on giving!!! I pray and hope our leadership class changes course before it's to late for us.

Iran having nukes is highly unlikely, let alone a suitcase bomb

Well Fazman calculate what needs to be done. You should read up on the Japanese bomb project during WW2.
