Are Americans OK With Paying Higher Gas Prices If It Means Holding Russia Accountable For What They Are Doing In Ukraine?

WNU Editor: In my opinion I think most Americans and Canadians will support higher gas prices (i.e. $2.5/liter or $9/gallon) even if it means double digit inflation, double digit interest rates, and double digit unemployment numbers resulting in a 2 to 3 year recession. Am I wrong?

I don't support this, me and my buddy have a small trucking company and we are getting hurt hard because of this. All our plans for our company are down in a drain now!

We Americans support $10/gal gas.
We support 20% annual inflation.
We support making our future generations live in poverty.

All to support Ukraine and their payoffs to the Biden family.

I'm hurting with 7.5% inflation. Are you kidding me??

Businesses, especially small ones or people living paycheck to paycheck probably won't support this. Transporting services like trucking, uber or city transport will take a huge impact. When we could be drilling more at home and help drive the prices down, but what do I know.

If The Biden Maladministration was opening up leases, proceeding with the Keystone XL pipeline, not playing footsie with Iran and not reconciling with Venezuela, I could take short term pain.

But HELL NO!

What is the point of getting tough on Russia only to get soft on Iran and Venezuela. I mean are the Bidenites so simple that they conceive of foreign policy as a see saw or can only juggle a couple of balls.

FUCK NO!

Any decision made during a moral panic will always be regretted after the smoothbrains have their come-down from the TV fueled war lust they're experiencing right now.

We agreed to the patriot act in the immediate aftermath of 9/11 because we weren't patient enough to wait for a bit of the emotion to drain out of the zeitgeist. The american public will make terrible decisions in the short term, until they can feel the consequences personally, and the permanent Wwshington establishment is counting on it.

I'm guessing this is sarcasm. With 65% of US families living paycheck to paycheck, this will destroy the US economy in a way we've never seen in our lifetime. I'm hoping I don't see it in my lifetime.

If this was a good cause then I think most people would....but considering the circumstances it will get ugly. And wait for it....... Let's See what happens when the real crunch comes within the inner cities......... and one very piece of advice..

letter to your family

Not many articles on how inflation will directly affect you....so here is one and here is your warning.

If you need anything, a new refrigerator, new tires, parts for your machines, food and fuel: buy it now. Why? Because prices are going to climb. As everyone knows inflation has picked up and continues to grow. What the Fed does or not do remains to be seen. The fact is right now, as we sit here, prices are rising.
The world has changed. Russia’s military action in the Ukraine, whether you agree with it or not, has changed both the geopolitical and economic world we live in. You now live in what historian’s call “a watershed moment” an extremely significant point of time from which the old reference points are no longer valid and new ones arise. Simple examples: The fall of the Soviet Union and the end of World War II. The world will never be the same. Now, the geopolitical fallout will be significant. The world is now being divided into two very distinct sides, with different world views and visions of how the future will be.
But what has that got to do with you sitting at home? Do you see the Russians at their ATMs and you hear of the shortages they are shortly going to face. Don’t worry, soon we may all see what that is all about. Economics is like a line of dominoes, hit one and a whole series fall.
What happens when you take Russian oil and gas out of the world market? You have shortages. Fuel prices rise. Every trucker will feel the pain and since 90% of goods are delivered by truck, so will you. We all will. Prices of: food, materials and supplies will rise due to fuel costs, it is inevitable. What other surprises will there be?
Russia is a commodity nation. Oil, LPG, Iron ore, nickel, copper, coal, gold, etc… will now be cut off to the West. We will have shortages. Meaning inflation will rise. You will pay. How about food? Russian and the Ukraine (as of right now out of commission) are two of the largest agricultural suppliers in the world. This is especially true for wheat. So food prices will rise and the price for animal feed will rise. That will be a twofer. And who knows how all of this will affect the other elements in the economy such as: chemicals, rubber, synthetics, lumber, concrete etc.
So my friends, I send this out to you as a friendly warning. Be practical. Are you thinking of replacing that worn out refrigerator, or washing machine? Does your tractor or ATV need parts? Is your automobile due for new tires? Or is there anything else out there you have been thinking about buying but just have not done it yet? My advice……I would do it now. And what does it hurt? You need it anyway. It is like money in the bank.
Good Luck and God Bless.

Oil is fungible.

Oil going from Russian to China means China buys less Middle East oil freeing it up. Prices are going to rise but not as much as if Russian oil was totally taken off the market.

Biden is a blathering idiot. All of our so called 'leaders' are whipping the public into the fourth moral panic in three years. The petrodollar is on the way out.

Western Civilization is dying.

Petrodollar on the way out is not as scary as it once was.

The petrodollar enabled politicians with no business experience and no grasp of economics beyond their own paycheck to deficit spend.

Now they straighten up or we get a banana republic.

Congressman Madison Cawthorn has been charged with driving with a revoked license, a misdemeanor that carries up to 20 days in jail.

The 26-year-old Henderson County Republican was pulled over March 3 in Cleveland County — about an hour-and-a-half southeast of Asheville — by the highway patrol, according to court records and a highway patrol spokesperson.

Along with the misdemeanor, Cawthorn is facing two pending citations for speeding: 89 mph in a 65-mph zone in Buncombe County on Oct. 18 and 87 mph in a 70-mph zone in Polk County on Jan. 8.

I work closely with a couple hundred people and many are veterans and there are less than a dozen are ok with the gas prices or inflation.

I see more evidence that these polls are over sampling certain groups that align with the pollsters opinion rather than a broad demographic.

Yes I am. What I'm not ok with is Biden crippling of the US oil industry. We could easily recoup our losses, and be ready for sustained conflict.
