Blaming Former President Trump For The Russia - Ukraine War

Fred Fleitz, American Greatness: How the Left Is Using Ukraine to Discredit Trump and ‘America First’

America First means keeping America out of unnecessary wars promoted by the liberal elite for nation-building in which we have no strategic interests.

Desperate to change the subject from how Joe Biden’s weak leadership and incoherent foreign policy set the stage for Vladimir Putin’s brutal war against Ukraine, many on the Left and in the mainstream media have resorted to a familiar tactic: Find a way to blame this crisis on President Trump—even though he has been out of office for 14 months.

The first attempt by liberals, like Washington Post editorial writer Eugene Robinson and former National Security Council staff member and Brookings Institution Senior Fellow Fiona Hill, was to claim that Trump’s national security policies, especially concerning Russia and NATO, emboldened Putin to invade Ukraine.

This criticism didn’t make sense since Putin ordered invasions of neighboring states during three of the last four presidencies, but none while President Trump was in office. All of these invasions—Georgia during the George W. Bush Administration in 2008, Ukraine during the Obama Administration in 2014, and Ukraine now during the Biden Administration—occurred when there was a global perception of American weakness and lack of resolve.

WNU Editor: A few days ago on Canada's national broadcaster the CBC they had never-Trumper David Frum blaming former President Trump for the Russian invasion of Ukraine. And now we have this CNN post .... 4 things to remember about Trump, Ukraine and Putin (CNN).

Here is an easy prediction. This is a trend of coverage that is going to continue as the war in Ukraine worsens, and the election season heats-up with the US midterms now 7 months away.

The Left does not understand. Trump punches back unlike other Republicans. De Santis is a new Republican and he all punches back.

Biden's dog handlers can blame all they want and it will be a mistake. First they are putting Trump's name out there and he will have name recognition. They are literally giving him advertising. Now, it is negative advertising and could work. But it will boomerang, because people are not going to believe everything foreign policy and everything at home is Trump's fault. That is the second point. It is why I am not too worried about it.

Biden cannot campaign from his basement a second time around. Also walking the dog onto stage is iffy. Biden's liver will develop a tolerance of Adderall and will break it down faster making it less effective. If the doctor switch meds he has to make educated guesses about the dosage of the new drug. That is iffy. The doctor might run out of drugs and have to go round robin. He could get the dosages wrong with each move. Plus Biden's liver's ability is decreasing with advanced decrepitude and the assault of various drugs.

I wish more more plane trips changing time zones for President Pretends or is it President Depends?

If Trump had not set the precedent, Pisspants Biden would never have sent lethal aid to Ukraine.

Lol. They would do that wouldn't they. I'm not surprised.

Aid that Obama did not provide.

Aid that Biden would not have provided if he had directly succeeded Obama.

It is iffy to know what Hillary would have done. I think on balance she would not have provided lethal aid either depending on you added to the till at the Clinton Initiative.

Now, the Russians have news reports showing the Javelins they captured from the Ukrainians. This begs the question.

This begs the question. If Ukraine is really really corrupt, why should the US provide the latest and greatest equipment, if it would be turned over the an enemy?

Before a war Javelins could be sold, so the Russians could reverse engineer them for their own use or to know how to counter them.

If a company is as rich in resources, skilled labor and factories as Ukraine, and has a per capita income 1/3rd that of Russian, plus has almost 20% Russians and is very corrupt, what sense does it make to send the latest tech to Ukraine. t seems as though Ukraine would fold like a cheap suit. Moscow thought so. So do The US. The US is still afraid to go all in under trembling.

Most TV analysts, Washington and DC thought Kiev would be encircled and overturn before or at the end of week three.

That perception was in part (1/2) by the platform imbalance and the other part (1/2) by the perception of corruption.

How do you think the movie Lord of War starring Nicolas Cage earned so much money?

Because of the perception people have.

Oh and there is the Biden tape as Russ pointed out.

ok. but you need to read in full to see exactly what was taking place. and you lose on this one.

Fact check: Joe Biden leveraged Ukraine aid to oust corrupt prosecutor

Russ, dear heart: you are too quick to swallow the right-wing shit that you look at all the time. Try instead to take something said and search about it.
That way, you may right sometimes but not wrong as often as you seem to be

this speech from Yesterday!

Former President Donald Trump lauded Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, and Kim Jong Un while going after the top ranks of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Speaking at a rally in Commerce, GA on Saturday, the former president noted that he played a clip from the movie Patton ahead of his address because he wanted to make a statement about the current brass of the U.S. military.

“Where the hell are our General Pattons?!” Trump said.

He went on to attack one general in particular, Gen. Mark Milley — the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Trump claimed Milley argued that it would be far cheaper to leave military equipment behind in Afghanistan than to remove it.

“That’s when I realized he was a frickin’ idiot,” Trump said. “That’s what happened. He said it’s cheaper. I’ll never forget it.”

From there the former president praised Putin, Xi, and Kim Jong Un — recalling fondly his two summits with the latter.

“He’s a smart guy, he’s a tough guy,” Trump said of the North Korean leader.

On Xi, Trump remarked, “he runs 1.5 billion people with an iron fist. Yeah, I think he’s pretty smart.”

And on the Russian leader, Trump mused, “they ask me, ‘Is Putin smart?’ Yeah, Putin’s smart.”

"Joe Biden is not getting the “Rally around the president” poll numbers that have almost always appeared when the United States gets involved in a military conflict."

"The erosion in Biden’s approval rating (JAN and 18 to 22 MAR) has been across the board among key demographic groups, including":

64 → 62 Blacks
51 → 44 Women
48 → 39 Latinos
36 → 32 Independents

Joe is done and the DNC with him.

We cannot "know" for certain what would have happened if Trunp were in office. He isn't and to be blunt the chances of him coming back are statistically zero.

While we cannot "know" for certain, we can make inferences based upon observation and experience. Multiple sources have pointed out that former POTUS Trump made it abundantly clear to Putin what the consequences of an attack of Ukraine would be to Russia. Furthermore based upon observation I conclude the Russian leadership both respected and feared former POTUS Trump. I deem it statistically close to zero likelihood that Russia would have invaded Ukraine if Trump were POTUS.

Based upon further observation I deem it statistically close to 100% likeky that the Russian leadership not only doesn't respect much less fear Biden and his team but they hold them in utter contempt.

The goal of team Trump was to defuse tensions and hopefully end Cold War 2. With this in mind a careful and meticulous diplomatic effort was put together over many years perhaps decades. One result of this was a Summit between Putin and Trump. By the accounts of multiple insiders such as former ambassador John Huntsman this Summit went EXTREMELY well. This diplomatic process should have been fully supported and allowed to continue . With one perhaps two more Summits I believe tensions would have been significantly reduced and we might have even ended Cold War 2. Unfortunately Democrats and their media surrogates chose to undercut this careful and meticulous diplomatic effort that took many king years and much hard work on both sides to put together.

I would add that the Ukrainian government made at least two terrible mistakes. The first one was voluntarily giving up their nuclear deterrent. The next one was when their true friend former POTUS Trump asked them to investigate the Biden shenanigans that occurred in their country that ran contrary to the interests of both of our countries. Had they have done so I believe they could have rendered Biden politically dead sparing all of us of this scourge and I truly believe it to be a scourge of this Biden presidency. Furthermore they would have gone a long way towards healing their country which was a corrupt basket case even before the Russian invasion. In using whatever leverage he had to try and get this done former POTUS Trump acted as a true American patriot and a true friend of Ukraine. The Ukrainian government turned its back on a true friend to follow those of questionable character.

When one turns their back on true friends especially in times of peril, it usually ends badly. Ukraine is now dealing with the consequences of this. I truly hope they prevail. Bad decisions don't have to be a death sentence!!
