Reuters: Chinese carrier sails through Taiwan Strait hours before Biden-Xi call
TAIPEI (Reuters) -A Chinese aircraft carrier sailed through the sensitive Taiwan Strait on Friday, Taiwan's Defence Ministry said, just hours before the Chinese and U.S. presidents were due to talk.
China claims democratically ruled Taiwan as its own territory, and has over the past two years stepped up its military activity near the island to assert its sovereignty claims, alarming Taipei and Washington.
A source with direct knowledge of the matter, who was not authorized to speak to the media and spoke on condition of anonymity, told Reuters the carrier Shandong sailed close to the Taiwan-controlled island of Kinmen, which sits directly opposite the Chinese city of Xiamen.

Just by going out of their way to say there is no linkage tells me that there is a linkage.

Plenty of wars fought almost no trials. Trials are a blessing for the winner. There also extremely biased to the winner. The rule of war is don't lose. You can pretty much do as you please if you follow that doctrine. Everything else is propaganda.
Why is it even considered provocative for them to sail between their own ports. Are we provoking China and the rest of the communist states when our ships unavoidably sail by Cuba while traversing our own coast? Of course not. Really wish the media wasn't so incendiary.
Sailing between Shanghai and Dalian is not provocative.
Sailing between Shanghai and Hong Kong is provocative. It sail right past Taiwan.
