(Reuters) - Meta Platforms will allow Facebook and Instagram users in some countries to call for violence against Russians and Russian soldiers in the context of the Ukraine invasion, according to internal emails seen by Reuters on Thursday, in a temporary change to its hate speech policy.
The social media company is also temporarily allowing some posts that call for death to Russian President Vladimir Putin or Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in countries including Russia, Ukraine and Poland, according to internal emails to its content moderators.
"As a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine we have temporarily made allowances for forms of political expression that would normally violate our rules like violent speech such as 'death to the Russian invaders.' We still won't allow credible calls for violence against Russian civilians," a Meta spokesperson said in a statement.

aleigh, N.C. — U.S. Rep. Madison Cawthorn of North Carolina told supporters he thought Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was a "thug"—a comment that runs counter to the overwhelming share of Republicans with a favorable view of the leader fending off a military invasion from Russia.
"Remember that Zelenskyy is a thug," Cawthorn said in a video obtained by WRAL. "Remember that the Ukrainian government is incredibly corrupt and is incredibly evil and has been pushing woke ideologies."
It was unclear where the video was taken. Cawthorn had a number of events in the state over the weekend.
On Thursday afternoon, one hour after WRAL reported the comments, Cawthorn appeared to walk back his remarks, saying on Twitter that Russian President Vladimir Putin's actions are "disgusting."
"I am praying for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people," he added.
He also sought to justify calling Zelenskyy a "thug" by accusing the Ukrainian president of pushing "misinformation on America." He posted a link to a conservative blog post with examples, including a story of Ukrainian soldiers on Snake Island who were feared to have been killed in a Feb. 24 Russian attack later being reported as "alive and well."

I think the bigger picture question is this:
Do we hold our own accountable for starting now 8 wars in a row? Syria, Iran, Lybia, Iraq, Afghanistan and on and on?
What about the previous wars and what they caused, like the Vietnam war?
What I think some here are saying is this:
Our leadership is so, so corrupt, so hopelessly corrupt that we should not follow them blindly into another war which could easily trigger WW3
Especially not after covid and the lies surrounding this
Especially not after how they treated us all - how they helped the largest corporations to absorb so much wealth from us, while pitting us against another, while they were building literal concentration camps and called political adversaries "super spreaders", yet allowed their political events to take place (see BLM)
It was abhorrent.
And you cannot honestly trust these people anymore.
On top, the purposeful destruction of US's energy supply (keystone pipeline, fracking etc) ahead of this all is telling a very dark story.. you are literally being made poor - and dependent on the state - by these people
And these very same people talk about the great reset, a time starting around 2030 - just 8 years from now - by when we - the middle class - will no longer exist, have no more property, no more rights and no more privacy.
