India Says A Nuclear-Capable Missile Was Accidentally Fired Into Pakistan

A Pakistani official who declined to be naimed claimed it was India's nuclear-capable BrahMos missile that was accidentally fired  

CNBC/Reuters: India says it accidentally fired missile into Pakistan 

* India said on Friday it had accidentally fired a missile into Pakistan this week because of a “technical malfunction” during routine maintenance. 

* Military experts have warned of the risk of accidents or miscalculations by the nuclear-armed neighbors, which have fought three wars and engaged in numerous smaller armed clashes, usually over the disputed territory of Kashmir. 

* Pakistan warned India “to be mindful of the unpleasant consequences of such negligence and take effective measures to avoid the recurrence of such violations in future.” 

India said on Friday it had accidentally fired a missile into Pakistan this week because of a “technical malfunction” during routine maintenance, giving its version of events after Pakistan summoned India’s envoy to protest. 

Military experts have in the past warned of the risk of accidents or miscalculations by the nuclear-armed neighbors, which have fought three wars and engaged in numerous smaller armed clashes, usually over the disputed territory of Kashmir.

For all the attention the Russia/US scenario is getting it's a sobering reminder that this could happen any day of the week between India/Pak and who's to say the next time there isn't a reaction.

Ukraine has now learned that giving up nukes is a big mistake. No nation with known nuke capability has ever yet been invaded. That message is now learned by N. Korea, Iran, and soon other nations.
