New pictures have emerged of Macron - arguably the EU's most clean-cut figure who is seldom seen wearing anything other than an immaculate fitted suit, coiffed hair and a clean shave - sat behind a desk in the Elysee palace wearing a dark hoodie, jeans and a face full of stubble. Some believe it is a marketing tactic to appear more relatable, piggybacking off the popularity of Zelensky
* French President Emmanuel Macron has been pictured in remarkably laid-back attire in the Élysée Palace
* The French leader has hardly ever been caught in anything other than a dark, slim-fitting suit and tie
* But the seemingly candid shots display Macron at work sporting stubble and an oversized hoodie with jeans
* The images, released by the President's official photographer, were generally well received on social media
* But some have accused Macron of launching a marketing ploy to look more like Ukrainian leader Zelensky
* Zelensky has become instantly recognisable in plain hoodies and t-shirts since the invasion of Ukraine began
* The Ukrainian leader has become incredibly popular for his selfie videos and agreeable demeanour
The French have long been known as trendsetters and purveyors of fine fashion, but it appears that President Emmanuel Macron has started taking style tips from the most in-vogue European leader.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has become an instantly recognisable figure amid the Russian invasion of his country, and has spent the past three weeks clad in simple khaki hoodies, jackets and t-shirts as he co-ordinates his country's defences.
The Ukrainian leader has understandably ditched the suit and tie that would typically befit a head of state for more utilitarian attire as he splits his time between the presidential palace and the streets of war-torn Kyiv.

Zelensky would look bad if he was in suit, so he stopped. Macron is copying Zelensky not out of nece3ssity, but for election year posturing. More evidence Macron is a phony.

Not sure what you mean by that, considering you are evidently anti-Ukraine/pro-Russian.
You must have missed all his posts about organizing relief for Ukrainian refugees and even lobbying Canadian politicians to try and facilitate more and faster asylum for Ukrainians. Or talking about his family and friends in Ukraine with obvious concern for their safety and future.
If he seems pro-Russian it's probably that he comes across as a Realist for international security, in which case this matter would be viewed as so important to Russia that they WILL get what they're after by any means necessary. Any economic pain, any military losses, even to the use of nuclear weapons. If that's your view, and it is mine, it would suggest Ukraine should basically rush this to the inevitable end point which is unfortunately a Russian victory. The opportunity for Ukraine to come out on top ended the second the invasion began, and this was foolishly facilitated by Western countries who, surprise surprise, are leaving Ukraine to burn.
I'm very pro Ukraine and I see that there's no victory in the current fight. They need to be preserving what they can now for the next fight because this one is lost no matter how the next days weeks or months go.
Grab hold of your emotions mate trolls eat that stuff up & feed it back ten fold
Alex is a good guy, but not perfect. He lives in Chicago for crying out loud. Other than being close to work, baseball, football, theatre, etc, why would you ever live there? I have walked through his neighborhood in the sidewalk below his apartment, if his description of the George Floyd riots is truthful.
He is a vet. Do not recall if a combat vet. His POV is a little more is more informed I think than that f the average person. I certainly read them.
We are being week 4. Myself I was off base I thought it would have been over a week ago.
It should have been over a week ago if Biden had sent more and a more complete set of arms. Where is Gust Avrakotos and Michael G. Vickers, when you need them?
