Military And Intelligence News Briefs -- October 9, 2022

The Guardian: Clash between Poland and US over MiG-29s reveals tensions in escalating war

Analysis: the public spat over planes is a setback and the upshot of this mini-debacle is that Russia retains air superiority

The buck-passing between Poland and the US over the possible use of elderly MiG-29s to hit Russian forces inside Ukraine is one of the west’s few diplomatic failures of the past month.

It also raises questions about how far European countries are prepared to escalate militarily before they believe they will touch a dangerous Russian tripwire.

Fuck off troll

Those meeting between Lukashenko and Putin for the last 2 or 3 years were to ensure that Lukashenko would allow Putin to use his country as a staging area.

Ditto meetings with Xi.

This happened on Putin's time table and he got all his ducks n a row before he launched his invasion.

Sure did. 8 years of watching Poroshenko and Zelenskiy kill 14,000 of their own people at the behest of the likes of Lindsay Graham provides ample time and reason to start making preparations. Imagine if our own statesmen had such foresight.

The 8 years when separatists fired on Ukraine police and soldiers from the start with A=K 47s, tanks and artillery. When you do that people tend to shoot back. Just a pro tip for you.

"A leaked phone call between the EU foreign affairs chief Catherine Ashton and Estonian foreign minister Urmas Paet has revealed that the two discussed a conspiracy theory that blamed the killing of civilian protesters in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, on the opposition rather than the ousted government."

Hm, looks like 76% of the casualties were on one side, and that only became more polarized while only one side was respecting the Minsk agreement. Really activates the almonds, doesn't it.

Keep racking up those L's. Got any other pro-tips under that tinfoil cap?

Putin did not respect the Minsk agreement. In fact Russia employed Russian and Syrian mercenaries in Donbas, plus provided the insurgents with heavy weapons.

Russia is not a party to the Minsk agreement. You should go back and read it.
