US Formally Accuses Russia Of Committing War Crimes In Ukraine

* The State Department on Wednesday announced it had assessed that Russian armed forces were committing war crimes during its invasion of Ukraine by targeting schools, hospitals and other civilian locations 

* Secretary of State Antony Blinken condemned 'brutal' attacks by Russian forces on civilian targets 

* Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said thousands of his people had died, including at least 121 children 

* The World Health Organization said it had verified 64 attacks on healthcare facilities, including ambulances 

* With the Russian advance stalled, fears are growing that a desperate Putin could use chemical weapons 

The United States government officially announced on Wednesday that it believed members of Russia's armed forces have committed war crimes in its invasion of Ukraine. 

'Our assessment is based on a careful review of available information from public and intelligence sources,' said Secretary of State Antony Blinken. 

'As with any alleged crime, a court of law with jurisdiction over the crime is ultimately responsible for determining criminal guilt in specific cases.'

nice cliche that means very little unless you can put that into specifics: who is committing war crimes in that specific war if not Russia?
Or do you refer to previous actions by other nations, and if so, what has that to do with this charge for this war?

It's relevance is that the accusation is meaningless and the result of making it is nil.
