Eye to eye and who blinks first. This is not the America of the past. Not after the election of 2008.

Jake Sullivan is the male equivalent of a Tracy Enid Flick

I was not calling Jake Sullivan Tracy Flick. It is what came to my mind after reading his Wikipedia entry.

"He was a Coca-Cola Scholar, debate champion, president of the student council, and voted "most likely to succeed" in his class."

Jake has 2 maybe 3 years of work experience. Everything else has been academia and politics. I think Sullivan's private industry stint was just a holding pattern until he could get hooked up.

Tracy Flick is a character in a film. Jake Sullivan is someone you wish was character in a film. That is the facts.

Another fact is this:

Leftist comedy: ‘Punching down’ to mock the misery of Biden’s inflation

"Colbert isn't an amateur comedian riffing at an underground comedy club. Colbert has around 20 writers who write ‘jokes’ for him. Upon approval, all ‘jokes’ are passed through a series of checks. The validators include myriad executives, executive producers, creative producers, writers, directors, and Colbert himself."

What does Rajan Laad's essay have to do with 4:50?

4:50 is the type of echo chamber denizen, who laughs at Colbert's jokes and religiously reads the New York Times.

4:50 is very religious and he takes his NYT and WaPo homilies seriously.

and here, for the claim by your brethren that Biden could get oil in US if he did this and that but will not: now find out what the truth is!

PolitiFact: Biden right oil industry has over 9,000 permits to drill

5:23 aka FRED

getting an oil lease is just the beginning of the process. If or when you drill and find oil you on a lease then there are many more regulatory steps.

Why would a company bid on a lease and not always drill? In case the market changes and to keep another company for drill there. IF you d not think game theory and govt regs comes it not then you are mistaken.

The oil companies have some idea of what could lay there based on geology and the costs to produce it, but it depends on the current price, the projected price chance and the cost to produce.

Literally lawyers eat companies alive. The law of the sea they proposed is for under sea mining is that you can prospect a site and if it is good the government can just simply take it from you. That is a not so extreme case.
