* Ukrainian forces have attacked an oil facility in Russia, Russian regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov claims
* Gladkov said the site in Belgorod was attacked by Mil Mi-24 helicopter gunships, with two workers injured
* Footage appears to show the attack at 5:43am local time and helicopters flying away from the burning site
* Ukraine is yet to confirm the attack, and analysts have cautioned to be aware of a 'false flag' attack
* Belgorod, home to 369,000 people, is just 25 miles from the Ukrainian border, and 50 miles from Kharkiv
* It would be the second time that Ukraine has attacked inside Russia after the Millerovo airbase strike
Ukraine has refused to deny attacking an oil facility inside Russia after two helicopters flew 25 miles past the border and fired rockets at a depot, causing a huge fireball this morning.
Regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said the helicopters flew at low altitude to Belgorod where they fired S-8 rockets at a Roseneft depot.
Several nearby businesses were also reported hit. There were initial fears it was a false flag after claims Russia would try to justify an escalation of conflict or an excuse to walk out of peace talks by staging an attack within its own territory.

WNU Editor: The Kremlin has responded to this attack .... Kremlin strikes back at Ukrainian attack on Belgorod fuel depot (TASS). More here .... Kremlin responds to alleged Ukrainian attack on Russian soil (RT). From a military perspective this Ukraine attack on this oil hub will not change the outcome of the war. But from a political point of view this attack is an embarrassment for the Russian leadership, and there is going to be bickering in Moscow on how did this happen, and why were these helicopters not stopped.

You sound really cock sure of yourself. Strategically off the cuff, it won't change the course of the war. Operationally, depending on the logistics systems it might affect the war.
Do the panzers around Kharkiv draw their fuel from Belgorod? Not being able to move much might affect their attrition rate. Not be able to move for fear of running out of diesel could give the initiative to Ukraine around Kharkiv.
People have speculated that it could be a false flag attack. Question is why? So Moscow can be tougher? Have an excuse to use a tactical nuke? You tell me.
It’s fairly impressive that Ukraine has choppers and pilots that are still able to pull something like this off. Flying through miles and miles of densely saturated radar, overtop of one of the most active fronts of the war currently.
Good on ukraine , they have 3very right to conduct offensive operations.
They are now flatly denying it was them. Probably Russian pilots lol at their best
Yea cuz Russia "didn't" let them roll in. now there support at home for more escalation just went way up. Some people just don't get how these elite on both sides operate. They just take fake ass news at face value its sad and pathetic
Next kursk voronez and the other places
we shoud give them 100 real jets to pay russia visit in return

Ukraine has every right to hit Russia if they are able. But somehow...I doubt it was Ukraine. Likely black ops NATO operation.
President Vladimir V. Putin’s approval ratings have reached levels unseen in years, according to an independent poll released on Thursday, as many Russians rally around the flag in the face of mounting international pressure.
Eighty-three percent of Russians said they approved of Mr. Putin’s actions, up from 69 percent in January,
Rational to target russian civilians above.

TROLLL FUCKING TROLL does not get or is purposefully ignoring the range of helicopters.
On the other hand TROLL FUCKIMNG TRROLL is onto something. The NATO helicopters took off from Kansas City, flew 12,0000 miles undetected by Russian radar and hit Belgorod.
