RT: US-NATO arms convoys in Ukraine legitimate targets – Russia

Moscow says its goal is to make it clear for NATO that Russia will respond harshly to attempts to hurt its military

Russia will perceive convoys delivering arms from NATO states to Ukraine legitimate targets for its military once they reach Ukrainian territory, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov warned in an interview published on Wednesday.

Regular contact with the US is impossible for Russia, considering “Washington’s unabashed support for militaristic intentions of the Kiev regime, the pouring of modern weapons” into the country by NATO members, the diplomat said.

Moscow’s goal now is to make it abundantly clear for the US and its allies that Russia will use harsh methods in response to attempts to hurt its military in Ukraine.

Maybe the bragging is for a purpose. It is not gratuitous. It is to wage a psychological game of we can out produce you and you shall never know peace as long as you wage aggressive war.

Maybe the Russians wargamed out that Ukraine would run out of bullets at a certain point after which further resistance would not be possible. The Russian leadership judged that the West would not intervene much or at all.

Peter the Great would be very upset with Putin.

And if they do, then what? More angry words and antiquated arms shipments?

The Russians have already destroyed and captured many shipments of US weapons. There are over a dozen NLAWS recently supplied by the UK that have been handed over the the Luhansk forces. Why wasn't a no fly zone implemented for those?
