New York Times: Next Big Battle in Ukraine Will Likely Look Very Different, Experts Say
Russian and Ukrainian forces are converging in the eastern part of the country, as thousands of civilians have streamed out of the region ahead of what threatens to be the war’s next big battle.
The fighting could look substantially different from the battle for Ukraine’s capital, which saw Russian forces pushed back from areas around Kyiv, leaving smoldering tanks and bombed-out suburban homes in their wake.
After retreating from the areas around Kyiv, Russian forces are repositioning for a new offensive on the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine.

Are they serious?
I would say it already began.
If you can hit your enemy in transit with drones or something, you hit them on the march. The Russians certainly have been hitting transportation nodes, bridges and more.
Those are still considered "shaping the battlefield" operations by the talking heads. The russian plan is to shake the earth with the largest artillery bombardment we've seen since WW2 and then roll over the cauldron with waves of armored vehicles. That will probably begin later this week.
Funny how the media is now having to acknowledge whats about to happen while they still have a stack of draft articles on their desk claiming "Russia is running with their tail between their legs!". Robots like fazman are about to short circuit.
