Update #2: US not intending to give back frozen assets — White House (TASS)

WNU editor: To put it bluntly. Jake Sullivan is confirming what everyone already knew. The US will not return the hundreds of billions (some estimates are that the total is close to $800 billion USD) that it has confiscated from Russian state and business groups in the past few weeks.

My gut is telling me the US government will rationalize this decision by passing legislation that these seized funds will be used to rebuild Ukraine in the form of reparations. But in reality. These funds will be laundered in such a manner that I will be surprised if Ukraine ever gets a fraction of these funds.

One can now safely say that trust in the Western bloc's financial and economic system for international investors is over. The impact of these measures will not be felt in the short term, but in the medium and long term it is going to be profound.
