Bloomberg: North Korea Fires Ballistic Missiles as Biden Wraps Up Asia Tour
(Bloomberg) -- North Korea fired at least three suspected ballistic missile Wednesday, just hours after as U.S. President Joe Biden wrapped up a visit to American allies South Korea and Japan, where he discussed the security threat posed by Kim Jong Un’s regime.
The projectiles were fired at around 6 a.m., 6:37 a.m. and 6:42 a.m. from an area near Pyongyang’s airport and flew toward waters off North Korea’s east coast, the South’s Joint Chief of Staff said.
Japanese Defense Minister Nobuo Kishi said officials were looking at the whether at least one of the rockets was an intercontinental ballistic missile and told reporters two suspected ballistic missiles appear to have already splashed down outside of the country’s exclusive economic zone.
Kishi said the launches were unacceptable.
