Politico: House passes $40B military aid package to buttress Ukraine 

The measure now goes to the Senate, where Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has promised the chamber “will move swiftly.” 

The House passed a nearly $40 billion package for Ukraine late Tuesday, sending the bill to the Senate as lawmakers heed President Joe Biden’s warning that U.S. cash to help the allied country will run out in just over a week. 

Attracting overwhelming support, the measure cleared the House in a 368-57 vote, just hours after bill text was released. 

Across the Capitol, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has promised the Senate “will move swiftly” to pass the package for Biden’s signature.
