Chinese President Xi Jinping will officiate at the event to mark the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return from British to Chinese rule and swear in the new administration.
State news agency Xinhua reported on Saturday morning that Xi will "attend the ceremony to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's reunification with the motherland and to inaugurate the city's sixth-term government".
