French President Macron's Alliance Has Lost Its Absolute Majority In French Parliamentary Elections

President Emmanuel Macron failed to win a majority in the French Parliament today as the Far-Right National Rally was expected to fill a record 89 seats, according to early projections. 

Instead, it was Marine Le Pen of the National Rally who was celebrating a massive victory, according to an early IPSOS poll. 

 French President Emmanuel Macron's alliance lost its majority in the French parliament, winning 245 seats in the 577-member chamber in elections, according to full results published by the interior ministry early Monday.

WNU Editor: A lot has changed in France since the French Presidential election. The narrative on the Russia - Ukraine war has changed (Ukraine is losing ground), and the energy crisis coupled with high inflation is starting to hit home for many French homes. But credit still has to be given to French President Macron. Even with these multiple crisis, his party still got about 40% of the vote.
