Beijing Rejects NASA's Claim That China Wants To Take Over The Moon

NASA appears to be threatened by China's move into the space race, as the nation is the most recent space agency to venture to the moon. China brought back samples from the moon in December. Pictured is the capsule after its return to Earth  

Daily Mail: China denounces NASA's claims it is taking over the moon: American space agency says the nation has stolen ideas and technology from others to weaponize the lunar surface 

 * NASA Administrator Bill Nelson made claims on Saturday that China is planning to take over the moon 

 * Nelson said China is stealing ideas and technology from others 

 * He said Chinese astronauts are being trained to destroy other country's satellites  

 * China rejected these claims on Monday, saying the US 'has constantly constructed a smear campaign against China' 

 China on Monday denounced NASA's claims it is planning to take over the moon as part of its military space program. 

The allegations came NASA Administrator Bill Nelson, who told Bild on Saturday that the US is now involved in a space race with China. 

'We must be very concerned that China is landing on the moon and saying: 'It's ours now and you stay out',' he told German newspaper.
