Kremlin Reacts To The Collapse Of Its Forces In Northeast Ukraine

RT: Kremlin responds to question on Russian troops ‘regrouping’  

Dmitry Peskov says president Vladimir Putin is being updated on the army’s movements on a regular basis 

Russian President Vladimir Putin is receiving round-the-clock updates on the situation in Ukraine and Moscow’s military action there, his press-secretary Dmitry Peskov said, after being questioned on Russian troops’ withdrawal from some areas to “regroup.” 

“Certainly, everything happening and all actions of the military during the special operation [in Ukraine] are being reported to the commander-in-chief,” the spokesman told the media on Monday.

 Putin can be in touch with Defense Minister Segey Shoigu and Russian military commanders “at any time of the day” as he is supposed to, Peskov added.

WNU editor: More information is now coming out that it looks like the decision was made days if not weeks ago by the Russian Ministry of Defense to withdraw from the Kharkiv region. Russian forces are spread thin, and from a military point of view it makes sense to withdraw to more manageable defense lines. That is probably the reason why the fighting has been minimal to non-existent in most of these recaptured towns and small cities. But the optics of the Russian military fleeing and not even fighting are terrible. 

If it looks like a rout. Smells like a rout. And feels like a rout. It is a rout. 

And while the Kremlin tries to project the image that the situation is under control. It is not. 

The Russian military defeat in Kharkiv has damaged Russian public confidence in President Putin's Ukraine war strategy, and among Russian forces, it has certainly damaged morale .... Russian Troops' Trust in Leadership Deteriorating Amid Counter Offensive: U.K. (Newsweek). 

My gut tells me that the Kremlin is now doing a rethink on its Ukraine war strategy. Today's attacks on Ukraine's power grid is a sign to me that they are probably going to escalate. And while I do not see the Kremlin announcing an end to their "special operations" in Ukraine, I do see them committing more manpower and equipment into the war.
