Russian President Putin Watches Strategic Nuclear Deterrence Forces Drills

 

Daily Mail: Putin watches his military prepare for Armageddon: Russian leader monitors simulated 'massive nuclear strike' as his forces carry out practice launch of ballistic and cruise missiles 

* Russia carried out test launches of a Yars land-based ICBM and a Sineva ICBM launched from a nuclear sub 

* Vladimir Putin watched on the annual drills from the Kremlin intended to simulate a 'massive nuclear strike' 

* The Kremlin said all missiles that were test-fired reached designated targets 

Vladimir Putin watched on today as Russia simulated a 'massive nuclear strike' with practice launches of ballistic and cruise missiles. 

The despot remotely observed the annual exercise, called 'Grom' or 'Thunder', which uses test launches to put Moscow's nuclear forces through their paces in a show of force to the West. 

Defence minister Sergei Shoigu reported to Putin that the drills were intended to simulate a retaliatory 'massive nuclear strike' by Russia.
