Reuters: Ukraine Defence Minister Says He Doesn't Believe Putin Will Use Nuclear Weapons

KYIV (Reuters) - Ukraine's Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said on Wednesday he did not believe Russia's President Vladimir Putin would use nuclear weapons.

Putin has warned repeatedly that Russia has the right to defend itself using any weapons in its arsenal, which includes the world's largest nuclear stockpile.

Russia's setbacks in the war in Ukraine have heightened Western concerns that Putin might use a tactical nuclear weapon.

"My personal opinion is that Putin won't use nukes," Reznikov told a news briefing when asked about the issue.

I don't think they will either. Based upon my analysis I think things are going much worse for the US and its "allies" than is generally recognized and based upon personality analysis and the character of the US leadership class they are the ones that I am concerned about using nuclear weapons. All the breathless talk of Russia doing it I believe is an example of "projection" where essentially someone or a group project their own character flaws onto an adversary.

I was worried at the beginning that Russia may use a tactical nuclear device or two. No more now. But I am becoming more worried on what Ukraine will do if the situation worsens. People do crazy things when they feel they have nothing to lose.

WNU,

I never thought it a possibility that Russia would use a nuclear weapon. With a proper understanding of the battlefield, the deficiency of US and Ukrainian leadership, the numerous allies that Russia can call on, and the overall capabilities of Russian leadership I never considered a possibility that Ukraine would actually win. As such, I considered it silliness to think Russia would use a nuke of any kind against Ukraine. Also, understanding the tendency the US leadership class has to project their own traits and characteristics onto others solidified this conclusion.

As to people doing crazy things when they have nothing to lose, I've noticed the US leadership class and their media surrogates are becoming even more breathless about the possibility of Russia using nuclear weapons. I think I know what they may be up to but it's very unpleasant to think about!!

With America either in a recession or nearing one some Republicans are beginning to snipe about ending this charade and stopping the unconditional support for the Zelensky chump and his minions. This would be a good place to start. From here we could work on a comprehensive framework to end Cold War 2. Perhaps if Trump friendly Republicans can come to power and Trump can be reelected we could reinitiate his careful diplomatic initiative that took careful and meticulous work by many good people over a very long time. It was such a shame to see that destroyed by unscrupulous elements in the US leadership class and their medica surrogates.

The frightening thing is that the projections may be portentous rather than just bluster. Back in March, when the western press was hammering on about the possibility of a Russian false flag day after day, what did we get? Bucha and Kramatorsk. Whenever these people get something at the forefront of their minds and run to the press to spin invectives about it the hair on the back of my neck stands up.

Anon (2:17PM),

I noticed this too. Also, the American (my country's) government is a corrupt and depraved as they come. Sorry to say it much like type it but it is what it is. Ignoring reality gets us nowhere!! If we can bring ourselves to face it head on, there may be something we can do about it. Of course they'd engage in false flags!! One way to determine what our leadership class is up to is to listen to the accusations they make against their adversaries be they foreign or domestic. At least a few Republicans are slowly starting to speak sensibly about Ukraine. Pray it holds up.
