Nov 20: Russians have gone silent in their threats to “freeze Europe to death,” because that effort failed. Europe will be fine this winter.
Family friend from Sweden says they have 2 hours blackouts once a day. Europe is coping. Russia will be hated.
2 hour blackouts every day is not good. Not to mention Sweden and Russia aren't even at war. That indicates an inability for even the wealthiest European nations to provide the minimum basics based on international prices alone.
2 hours a day is not causing any distress judging from the family friend. They will just buy insulated pants. That is what they said.
Hell, the other day I turned off my furnace for 6 hours with no problem, when it was freezing outside. Furnace fan sounded like Hell. Fixed the problem and moved on. It is exactly what Sweden will do. They will fix the problem and move on leaving Russia in the dust.
Fixing your furnace by choice one time is hardly comparable to the entire population of multiple european nations losing power and communications for 2+ hours every single day for months. I'm glad your friend is staying positive about the situation however.

I could turn off my furnace everyday for 2 hours a day through out the winter months. I know the outside and inside temperature. I know the season temperature profile, so I can project out that I can do it all winter season. I can also project out that others could do this too.
Living in both apartment and single family homes I know apartment dwellers keep their homes considerable warmer. They can survive at 65 or 70 instead of 75.
Russians are used to being hated by now. How about the stupidity of Europe for relying on Russian energy for so long all the while being a part of organization that solely exists to counter Russia (NATO) Absolute comedy is what that is
I know the Dems fixed the elections. Did they fix furnaces too?
Fixing furnaces were mentioned merely to show that you can turn off your furnace for hours at a time without ill effects to home or occupant.
But go ahead. Mock. You are a troll. That is the sum total of your life! :)
I often turn off my furnace in July and in August. I live in Panama. I find that with a light sweater I stay warm.
And you are still mocking. I don't get lake effect snow, but I am not too far removed from there. It gets cold here.
And you don't have a furnace in Panama. Generally, when you live between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn, you do not have a furnace unless you are in the mountains.
I been to Panama twice and I don't remember seeing you.
You perhaps missed me at my factory where I make Panama hats for gringos.
Many Yankees move here for retardament and helps our economies. Some Boston and Dodgers too.
