I am surprised that Reuters got these pictures. These soldiers look exhausted. And the Zaporizhzhia front is one the quieter parts of the war.
In the past few weeks there has been a large number of social media postings from Ukrainian soldiers who have come from the front-lines. It has been depressing to watch.
I am sure the same is happening on the Russian side. But Moscow still has a lot of control on how the war is being covered. For one. Unlike their Ukrainian counterparts Russian soldiers are not allowed to have cell phones.
