* Russia has likely lost half its main battle tanks in Ukraine, a senior US defense official said.
* Putin has also lost tens of thousands of troops, the Pentagon's Colin Kahl told reporters this week.
* Because of this, "Russia will emerge from this war weaker than it went in," he said.
Russia has likely lost half of its main battle tanks fighting in Ukraine, a senior US defense official said Tuesday, adding that the Russian military will end up being weaker than it was before the war began.
Colin Kahl, the undersecretary of defense for policy, told reporters this week that Russian President Vladimir Putin has "suffered a massive strategic failure" during his ongoing and unprovoked war in Ukraine.

WNU Editor: I do not see what the Pentagon is seeing. What I see is a geopolitical alignment now underway with Russia focused on Asia and the BRICs, and the ones who will be weaker in the end will be Europe.

The Russian tanks are doomed. They lost 1/2 of them. From what I read of Ukrainian artillery and ammo, the other 1/2 are doomed too. Too much attention have been focused on the HIMARS these are operations and strategic assets. Conventional 155s are going to chew Russian formations up. the recruits probably do not know how to protect tanks anyway and without tanks the are not going to advance that well.
I do not now the drone angle for either side. The Russian air force can suicide, if they want. To stay alive all they can do is come to the border fire a volley and retreat.
I do not expect much from the singer Milley. Has he finished writing his book report on White Rage?
