This world is going downhill pretty fast lately, or was it always like that and it is just me realizing in my 30ies?
Since the start of the pandemic, we are witnessing a great unraveling.
Some say the 4th turning stuff is not valid.
But if it is not, something else is going on because the waves of disruption and uncertainty are definitely increasing. And the velocity of these changes have increased in the last 2 years.
The pandemic was a grab for power. It became apparent to many more people.
However the ongoing coup against DJT by the Obama administration makes a good case the the election of Obama is a good place to put a stake in the ground and denote, where it really went south.
Steve Bannon goes to prison for contempt of Congress. Eric Holder did not.
Lois Lerner destroyed mountain of evidence (4 computers worth) and she is free as a bird.
Lois Lerner not a big deal? She created an unlevel political playing field by harassing conservative organization with the power of government and the power of the purse.
By denying tax exempt status to conservative organization Lerner meant to tip elections in the favor of Democrats. If you make conservatives pay 10%, 20%, 30% more to get their message out that creates considerable drag. would you design an airplane on purpose with 10% to 30% more drag?
The election interference by Lerner comports with rule/axiom 2 & 3 of the Iron Law of Oligarchy.

The Obama regime was involved in gunrunning which got people murdered for the sole purpose of overthrowing the 2nd Amendment not by the ballot box but by shaping the information space using covert and illegal/unwise government action. Some friggin liberal will moan that the bush administration allowed bad gun sales. They also put trackers in the guns and tried to shut down the gunrunning networks. There was not intent to end the 2nd Amendment.
Also in the Obama administration with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight, why repeat the Bush admin program when the gun runners caught onto the tracking devices?

you can put the stake during the pandemic or Obama administration or somewhere else. It is really hard to make cases or decide.
My suggestion is to runback to calculus and look for inflection points. You would have to quantify events or things objectively. Once you did the inflection points are the easy part.
