VOA/Reuters: Putin Ally Meets Iran Leader as Moscow Deepens Tehran Ties

A leading ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin met Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi on Wednesday on a trip to deepen trade and security cooperation, as Moscow looks to shore up its economy and bolster its war effort in Ukraine.

Russian Security Council secretary Nikolai Patrushev's visit was a sign of Iran's growing importance as a supportive partner and weapons supplier at a time when Moscow is isolated by Western sanctions and faces intense Ukrainian military pressure.

With Russia's "special military operation" in Ukraine in its ninth month, Raisi and Patrushev discussed "various issues of Russian-Iranian cooperation in the field of security, as well as a number of international problems," Interfax news agency said.

WNU Editor: In the past two months Nikolai Patrushev, who IMHO is the second most powerful leader in Russia,  has visited China (link here), India (link here), and now Iran.

He has visited these countries not to seek their help. What Nikolai Patrushev is doing is telling these leaders personally on what is Russia's ultimate goal in Ukraine, and how they are going to achieve it.

My guess is that he is giving them a heads-up that once the 318,000 soldiers who were mobilized in September have completed their training and been assigned to their units, Russia is going to start offensive operations again. My guess has always been December/January, and I am still sticking with that timetable.

"once the 318,000 soldiers who were mobilized in September have completed their training and been assigned to their units"

From reports some recruits have already had their baptism of fire. They were nona-decimated.
So at least portion of the 318,000 have been put on the line and chewed up. It is a crime.

1) There have been reports of little or no training.
2) There have been reports of riots or mutiny.
3) There have been reports of problems kitting out.

So with some recruits already expended and all the other problems, why does WNU expect big things?

WNU better take a long look at himself in the mirror, if or when the bulk of the Russians, who are captured are newly mobilized recruits.

It would makes sense of ISW's report that trains were moving people into and out of the Kherson via Dzankhoi. It did not make sense at the time although a few people posited troop rotation. Green troops northwest and regular troops southeast to freedom. Soon we will know.

I suggest a buying a replacement mirror before you take a long hard look.

Exactly, what training?, what weapons? Farm boys and accountants are already being kicked ass first into the cauldron.

"In the past two months Nikolai Patrushev, who IMHO is the second most powerful leader in Russia, has visited ... India"

I cannot remember how Trump approached or treated India. I think it was because of Russia gate, impeachment I, Impeachment II, Democrat COVID circus & power grab, etc. You get the point Trump had mean tweets, but the Democrats kept everything in an uproar.

The Russians have Nikolai Patrushev.

The Americans have Joe Biden.

To me it looks like a Russian win in India.

For the past 8 or 10 years I have not seen why the US did not try to cement ties with India better. There was a dust up over the S-400 I think. My dear is that Biden and his handlers could screw up Indian-American relations like they did Saudi-American relations.

My comment at the time was in the future if the Americans want to make S-4000 sales a on problem, they have to bring down costs. But IMO that would mean in part bring down taxes, which is a nonstarter for aristocrats.

Who will win? The Russians or the Ukies. Reports are also coming in that most of the original Ukie army is dead. Replacements are are old men and kids. Training sucks with wooden guns. The commander's lead from the rear and weapons do not reach the from. Ukie units have mutinied.
So what do we make of this?

Russian propaganda the units spearheading these assaults are def not old men and are very well trained and organised.
You just described the Russian mobilisation

Old men and young kids?

Really? I have read about this. It happened on the German side during WW2 in 1945. I read that the old men shot the children, German children.

The old men knew the war was lost,, they were trying to survive. The Hitler Jugend fired up with youthful zeal and propaganda wanted to fire on the Russian units and attract artillery, machinegun fire and other bad stuff. They wanted and some of them did. They got fragged.

This will happen on the Russian side. I read about new Putin programs with the youth. Putin is setting it up. Enjoy.
