South Korea Has Become One Of The World's Biggest Weapons Suppliers

ThemaNews: South Korea has quietly become one of the world’s biggest weapons suppliers

South Korea has quietly become a favorite of arms buyers around the world, in the culmination of a decades-long effort to protect itself from North Korea

The international arms trade has largely flowed West to East, with North American and European countries accounting for a whopping 87% of weapons exports from 2017 to 2021.

This year South Korea has shown it’s ready to change that. Poland agreed this summer to purchase tanks, self-propelled howitzers and light attack planes from South Korea in deals worth $8.8 billion.

The two countries topped it off last week with a $3.6 billion agreement for rocket launchers. It’s the first time that a NATO member other than Turkey has turned to defense contractors outside the alliance for major weapons systems.

Ah really? Such a shocker! NOT!

Read the Arms of Krupp. That company went from steel to arms and the making of rails.

Where they make steel in world is anywhere where there are no green turds and mommy pampered eco=terrorists. Countries are Mexico (foundries) India, Ukraine, South Korea, Japan, China,...

Add to the steel mills is that South Korea has a real need for a real no kidding, no nonsense military. North Korea attacked in the early 1950s with the full blessing and knowledge of China and Russia. A state of war has existed ever since, there is no peace treaty. There is an armistice.

So steel mills foundries and a real need for military.

If you build you own arms industry, you are not at the mercy of US congressional approval. Do you really want to wait or ask for Senator Fetterman's approval?

Poland has bought and licensed South Korean military gear. They are also building up their own arms industry.

... reason being is something about Russia attacking Poland like all the time.

3 times in the 18th century
0 times in the 19th century (Poland was being digested.)
3 times in the 20th century. (Depends on how you count. I count the 1944 Battle for Warsaw as Russian aggression. So that would make 3.)

The American and French artillery going too Ukraine made 'big' news. The Polish artillery did not make such a big splash. The Ukrainians have only lost 2 Polish made artillery pieces and there were around 100 sent so far. Make me think the Russians are losing the artillery duels and this the artillery war. I could be wrong.

the Russians had 2 offensives. the regional invasion and the June/July Donestk push. The Russians have been pushed back in 3 Ukrainians offensives. We are told of a winter Russian offensive. We shall see.

If the Russian lose the artillery duels across the lower Dinpro, the Left Bank defense will be overrun by summer. Cold be overrun sooner, but why? Save the manpower pool.
