Axios: Zelensky sets high bar for any peace talks with Putin
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said late Monday that Ukraine is prepared to negotiate with Russia if certain conditions are met, including the restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity, punishment of war criminals and compensation for Kyiv for the invasion.
Between the lines: U.S. officials have reportedly been privately urging Zelensky — who said in September that he'd only negotiate with Russia's next president, not Vladimir Putin — to signal openness to talks.
Zelensky reiterated Ukraine's several conditions for any such talks and one of his top aides denied Tuesday that Kyiv felt any pressure to negotiate.

One of those cases where Zelensky tells Sullivan "Sure I can pay lip service to negotiations for the sake of optics. That makes sense. No problem." and then the tattoo enthusiasts from Lviv proofread his statement and step in to remind him who is ultimately responsible for his safety. Jake must be upset.

I mostly agree with fazman although I have tangled him in the past. Right now fazman IMO is batting 1000. Things must be really dire and what needs to be done must be real simple for there to be no disagreement.

Reparations? I could pass on those to end the war and the further waste of life and property. It means the Us picking up the bill.
Passing on all the war criminals. Cannot do. At least some have to be prosecuted. OTHERWISE, THERE CAN BE NO MORE RUSSIA. PERIOD!
