U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, General Mark Milley Hold A Press Conference After A Meeting With The Ukraine Defense Contact Group

WNU Editor: Both Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III and General Mark Milley are saying there is a low probability that Ukraine can push Russia entirely out of territory (see below):

And anyway, in the grand scheme of things, it's more like a minor incursion than an invasion of conquest per se.

Milley and Austin play a shrewd hand based on a perception of military risk, unlike some of their neocon equals at State.

So what are the ukies going to do? Take Moscow? Nope ain't happening? Do they have the manpower and firepower to take back all of Donesk and the Crimea in the face of opposition? Probably not.

So what does this mean? It means the Ukies are not going to win this thing as they want to. , Why? why won't the Ukies win?

Because if it was a sure thing the American Military would be 100% behind continuing the war as it stands. They are used to clubbing baby seals and if this was a baby seal situation, they would not be saying these things. So no question about it....that's the US military assessment of the war.

Milley is not shrewd. He is a boot licking toady. He wants to throw in the towel because he does not want the slightest risk. The brown noser was ready to throw in the towel back in March when the nervous Nellies offered Zelensky asylum.

The only reason the Ukrainians are not on the east bank is because the bridge is blown other wise they would be 2.3rds of the way to Crimea and in full contact with the Russian line. Still the Ukrainians are trying to turn the flank, which does not make sense to me or they are trying to keep the pressure on.

I expect an attack on the cowering Russian navy. The Black Sea fleet is about as useless as the Tirpitz hiding in a Norwegian ford. They must need a lot of urinal cakes.

Financial Times: Ukraine and western allies at odds over missile that exploded in Poland

Responding to Zelenskyy’s comments, a diplomat from a Nato country in Kyiv told the Financial Times: “This is getting ridiculous. The Ukrainians are destroying [our] confidence in them. Nobody is blaming Ukraine and they are openly lying. This is more destructive than the missile.”

Trouble in paradise.

Trolls hard at work. I find Russian trolls on climate change websites out in full force. I see post names O have never seen before. I guess trolling is better than fighting for Wagner and dying trying to take Bakhmut for the 3rd straight month in a row.

Wagner. Wow!

What a name.

If they were going to steal a German name why not Peiper or Leibstandarte.

Yup, Russians are going full frontal Nazi

You hang out on climate change forums looking for russian agents?

Anonymous said...

I've been following the climate change arguments and counter arguments for years. The russian trolls are interlopers.

It is like you read articles and discussions on a hobby website for years and then one day some unwashed leftist show up and start preaching. That is what happened.

Kremlin goblins want to shape the information space. They are going all out.

Apparently he has the names of all the not-Russian-agents memorized, so that when he sees a new one—by process of elimination—he has them nailed.

Not on your watch

You freaks are out of control. Lol

Been there with those people.

4:59 is pretty close to the mark.

Calling Milley a toady does not negate the fact that these his and Austin's assessment is unsaid but revealed by their actions.

If the cjcs says

"it has a low probability".

Translate ...it has a zero chance of happening.

These guys are always PC and try to put a positive spin on everything.

What is amazing is that we were told that the Russians we digging in in 2 or 3 lines of defense on the East bank of the Dnipro.

So far these defenses have failed to materialize.

I figure the UA will do recon and figure out what is empty. Then they will do more recon and figure where the Russians actually are and what strength. Then they will decide how many troops put ashore. That the Russian are not contesting the water line for 2 or 3 miles inland means nothing.

Apparently the Russians only got 2/3rds of the people they called up and they cannot even equip those. The Russians are in bad shape.

Sam's miss and explode all the time , what have they lied about?

ha. Zelensky & Co. are such obvious scammers it's sad that people feel like they have to take them seeiously---and then feel 'burned.'

Chinese State Media Pointedly Excludes Biden From List of Key World Leaders Xi Met With

"Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was also excluded from the list — especially ironic since Biden and Trudeau were recently caught on camera wearing shirts that appeared to be Mao Zedong costumes."

So Prime Minister Black Face cosplayed by dressing up in traditional Indian clothing. Not he is cosplaying again. Is this a game? does he get points?

There is some sort of game that you collect characters or points by going to different geographical locations, It is based on popular Japanese anime.

Maybe culturally appropriating ethnic garb and sucking up is the "world leader" version?

So Joe is snubbed while playing dress up, but orange man is bad.

Another $37 billion to Ukraine right after the fake "Russian Strike on Poland" propaganda. FTX has now been described as a critical financial conduit for the Dems to funnel money into Ukraine and into Democrat financial coffers.

Enough. No more weapons or money to Ukraine. At least not until an audit. These generals are derelict. They are complicit in the high-speed depletion of our stocks of HIMARS, 105mm arty shells, Javelins, armored vehicles and M-4 rifles. And millions of rounds of ammo. None of it easily replaceable. With no accounting of where it actually ends up.

Milley repeated "As long as it takes" approx 5 times. As long as it takes for what?

Hopefully the new GOP majority House will but the brakes on.

As long as it takes for average Ukrainians to throw off Washington's yoke.

Seems more like Ukraine has a yoke on Washington. Zelensky says 'jump' and the Biden White House asks 'how high?'.

Since the ukranians are doing NATO's job for them , and weakening g to rhe point where it will take them a decade to recover it seems like a fair trade , blood for weapons

A year ago i agreed with fazman about 60% of the time. Now it is 100%. I agreed with Rus 100% and now that number is going down

The money we spending Ukraine is a pittance compared to domestic spending. A pittance. If the US does not win the dollar loses reserve status. It is that simple.

It would not be fair to ask the Ukrainians to stand up and then to abandon them. That is a country club trick George H W. Bush did that with the Shia in Iraq in 1991. In 2003 we were digging up the mass graves. So we need a repeat?

If a French Canadian was on trial in Maryland and the court proceeding were not in French, would that be cause for Justin Trudeau and Canada to invade? That is what Pootin is claiming

What are we going to do? Designate the Ukrainians as modern day Hmong and so they get what they get.

RussInSoCal said...

fazman,

That's easy to say in Australia. Its not your army divisions and tax base being ransacked to supply the Ukraine black hole. I understand that AUS has spent about $100 million in support for Ukraine so far. That's not a whole lot. But I'm sure there's a lot of UKR flags waiving about in Sydney.

RussInSoCal said...

Some $93 billion had been sent to Ukraine from the US to date. Not including today's brand new $37B. That's not a "pittance". Especially when the US has some deferred national maintenance of our own to attend to.

But I would like you to expand on your "if the US does not win the dollar loses reserve status. It is that simple" theory.
