Pakistan's 'Mock War' On Taliban

From The Australian:

A COALITION partner in the Pakistan government has accused the military of staging a "mock war" in the Taliban stronghold of South Waziristan while continuing to aid the export of militants over the border into Afghanistan.

The accusation came as Pakistani intelligence officials revealed the country had objected to the expansion of US military operations in southern Afghanistan, for fear the surge would push militants back into Pakistan and exacerbate unrest in its troubled Baluchistan province.

My Comment: Even members of the coalition Government in Pakistan are now openly stating that the Pakistani military is conducting a phony war against the militants. This entire situation gets even more bizarre when the Pakistani leadership has requested more funds and equipment from the U.S. to battle these militants.

Who to believe?

After months of battle, the Pakistan Army is still in the same place that they were before this "new phase" in the conflict started. No top Taliban commanders have been killed. And the propaganda and hate that comes from Taliban radio stations still continues to this day.

What's even worse is the announcement from Pakistan's Intelligence Services that the U.S. and its NATO allies must stop their fight in Afghanistan .... that these Taliban "fighters" will only move into Pakistan. When I first heard this is when I realized that these Pakistani officials are in cahoots with these thugs, and they are trying their best to protect their own who are now being slaughtered by US marines and NATO forces.

The member of the Pakistan's Government's coalition is right .... much of this "war" and "battle" in Pakistan is show, with millions of innocent Pakistanis being used as fodder to show to the world that the Pakistan Army and its Intelligence Services are doing the job .... they are not.
