Is President-Elect Trump Correct In Saying That Claims Of Russian Interference In the 2016 Race Are Ridiculous?

FOX News: Trump: Claims of Russian interference in 2016 race 'ridiculous,' Dems making excuses

President-elect Donald Trump, in an exclusive interview with “Fox News Sunday,” decried as “ridiculous” the CIA’s reported assessment that Russia intervened in the election to boost his candidacy – describing the claim as another “excuse” pushed by Democrats to explain his upset victory.

“It's just another excuse. I don't believe it,” Trump said. “… Every week it's another excuse. We had a massive landslide victory, as you know, in the Electoral College.”

Trump spoke with Fox News’ Chris Wallace in the president-elect’s first Sunday show interview since winning the election.

WNU Editor: I have a sinking feeling that President-Elect Trump may be right on this one .... especially after I read this report .... FBI and CIA give differing accounts to lawmakers on Russia’s motives in 2016 hacks (Washington Post). Why the difference .... the CIA's view is a "consensus view" presented by administrative officials who are the political appointees of these agencies (i.e. Democrat), and it is a view based on their interpretation of a pattern .... not direct evidence. The FBI view is based on investigation and evidence obtained .... and it appears that what they obtained contradicts what the CIA is claiming. This should not surprise anyone .... the CIA's charter does not permit it to launch investigations on U.S. soil. That is why the CIA claim that the RNC was hacked along with the Democrats while also saying that the FBI is wrong to conclude that the RNC was NOT hacked makes no sense to me. I mean .... how can the CIA make the claim with no direct evidence that the hacked RNC documents weren’t released because the Russians were helping Trump .... even though the FBI (who have the evidence) are saying that the RNC was not hacked.

Bottom line .... to clear the air .... this CIA report and assessment should be declassified. And if it is not done by the Obama administration, I hope that the Trump administration will do so after January 20 when they assume the Presidency..

On a side note .... Russian intelligence are masters at disinformation. They are pros at manipulating the media, and pushing a narrative that advances their agenda. As to the question .... did they successfully interfere in the U.S. Presidential race .... all that I can say is that if they did it would be one of the greatest intelligence coups of all time .... and it was only possible because of sloppy and incompetent security protocols within the DNC.

So on one hand you are dismissing the possibility, on the other you are saying if it did happen.....

Talk about trying to confuse. You play a nice role in Russia ability to create the fog.

Easy to sense. I still enjoy your site, but your love of all things Putin, really shows through.

RRH must feel deflated.

Can't the Democrats get anything right?

They could not get the FBI & CIA singing form the same hymnal!

The Senate Intelligence Commitee decides what get's released and made public, not the President, and they blocked the release of the CIA Report back in September, despite a bipartizan presentation by all the Alphabet Agencies that they should release the report.

I don't know who did the hacking, but we learn a lot of interesting things. And how the hacking of the DNC is more important vs the hacking of the Clinton server which had secret information? Strange.

I agree Jay that it is the Senate that can declassify a report .... but the President does have pull, and this is an issue that must be put to bed. But if the decision to not declassify continues .... this will not look good for all involved, including President-elect Trump and the person who chairs the U.S. intelligence committee (Sen. Burr) who is also a Trump supporter.

If, the CIA/ DIA reports are true, then it's not just Trump and Burr in the hotseat.

The reports won't be released, even under a future Democratic Administration for the same reason Johnson and the Dems kept Nixon's Treason quiet over the decades.
