Reuters: Democrats want 9/11-style special commission to probe Russia
Democratic members of the U.S. Congress called on Monday for the creation of an independent commission to investigate Russia's attempts to intervene in the 2016 election, similar to the Sept. 11 panel that probed the 2001 attacks on the United States.
Their "Protecting our Democracy Act" would create a 12-member, bipartisan independent panel to interview witnesses, obtain documents, issue subpoenas and receive public testimony to examine attempts by Moscow and any other entities to influence the election.
The panel members would not be members of Congress.
The legislation is one of many calls by lawmakers to look into Russian involvement in the contest, in which Republican Donald Trump defeated Democrat Hillary Clinton in the White House race, confounding opinion polls. Republicans also kept control of the Senate and House of Representatives by larger-than-expected margins.

The Republicans are not interested, and the Democrats themselves did not help their case when they denied FBI requests to access their servers for their investigation .... Comey: DNC denied FBI's requests for access to hacked servers (The Hill). Some are hoping that that when the Trump administration takes power in 10 days they will make the decision to release the classified version of this report .... We'll Know Soon Whether U.S. Spies Are Bluffing on Russia (Eli Lake, Bloomberg) .... but I am willing to bet that they .... like the Obama administration .... will keep this all locked up.

The basic thesis the Democrats are putting forward here is that there's no way they could've lost the election except for this alleged Russian interference. As Putin himself pointed out, they also lost the House and Senate and lots of local elections and they lost them for internal reasons. The Americans who voted against them voted against 4 more years of Obama, against four more years of perpetual wars, economic collapse, heroin epidemic, an Affordable Care Act that's not affordable and on and on. Obama has created a very unhappy America and yet the Democrats think that ruling the country is their birthright and they can't accept that they lost. On the same side, actually,a re war party Republicans, like McCain and Lindsey Graham, who, along with the Democrats are going to do their best to bludgeon Trump into going along with the failed policies of the last 16 years.
The Democrat Party antics is what is known as blowback.
I hope Moscow is happy.
