Second Thoughts From President Trump On The Firing Of National Security Adviser Michael Flynn?

Washington Post: Trump says Flynn was treated unfairly, a day after Spicer said he was fired because of a lack of trust

President Trump criticized the intelligence community and the media Wednesday for the news reports that ultimately led to national security adviser Michael Flynn’s resignation Monday night, less than four weeks into his White House tenure.

“I think he’s been treated very, very unfairly by the media — as I call it, the ‘fake media,’ in many cases — and I think it’s really a sad thing that he was treated so badly,” Trump said at a news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “I think in addition to that, from intelligence, papers are being leaked, things are being leaked.”

Trump added that the leaks were a “criminal action, criminal act.”

Update: Trump Blames ‘Very Unfair’ Media Coverage for Flynn’s Downfall (Bloomberg)

WNU Editor: It looks like President Trump has some regrets. But if Michael Flynn did what he has been accused of ..... lying to the Vice President, top White House officials, lying to the FBI, etc. .... the grounds for why he should  have been fired are valid. Meanwhile .... former National Security adviser Michael Flynn is saying that he has done nothing wrong .... EXCLUSIVE: In Final Interview, Defiant Flynn Insists He Crossed No Lines, Leakers Must Be Prosecuted (Daily Caller). My guess is that the truth will finally come out when the transcript for the Michael Flynn-Russian ambassador phone call that has caused all of this uproar is finally made public. And while the New York Times and the Washington Post have decided not to post this transcript (as of today) .... my guess is that it will be posted after this story has run its course.

I am guessing from his statements and his rhetoric that he intends to take some antiConstitutional actions against the press and others. Using the 'fake news' and illegal leaks reasoning for such actions. I predict if he does this, there will be hell to pay on his part.

Is lying to the President more serious than lying to Congress?

Anon .... the media sailed that boat a long time ago. President Trump is doing what anyone else would do .... he is fighting back.

Bob .... the President can only fire you. Congress .... the FBI .... perjury is serious, and the legal repercussions are far more serious.

The president is going to let loose the dogs of investigation. I hope they hang the people that are leaking these. Gen Flynn may have lied but leaking the lies is unacceptable.

Dave:
Nope. when your nation is possibly being subverted, doing that which may be illegal is necessary. Do you keep secret that your leader is aligning himself with an enemy? Have we learned nothing from Nazi Germany?
Snowden may or may not be a traitor etc but his revelations are important.
ps: more will soon be forthcoming from the intel groups Trump is now badmouthing. Very soon.

I love how events like these, expose how "deeply held" Right wing values, are not deeply held, or values at all.

Just highly conditional posturing for political positions.

Sorry editor I was being sarcastic thinking about Clapper who didn't seem to suffer one bit on lying to a Congressional committee.
