Khan: I haven't got time to respond to tweets from Donald Trump
London mayor says US president is wrong about many things and that state visit to Britain should not go ahead.
The London mayor, Sadiq Khan, has called on the British government to cancel a planned state visit by Donald Trump after being criticised in two tweets by the US president.
Trump initially criticised Khan for his response to the London Bridge terrorist attack; though, in doing so, he misquoted London’s mayor. Khan’s office pointed out Trump’s error later but the president responded by accusing London’s mayor of making a “pathetic excuse”.
Appearing on Channel 4 News on Monday evening, Khan said Trump was wrong about “many things” and that his state visit should not go ahead.

WNU Editor: So much for saying that he does not care on what President Trump tweets .... London mayor tells AP he doesn’t care about Trump tweets (AP). As for President Trump's trip to the U.K. .... it is still on .... Trump's UK visit on despite criticism, says foreign secretary (Reuters).
As to what is my take on all of this .... I find all of this quite astounding. In the past a U.S. President would give his condolences .... and everyone else would just follow suit. There will be no real condemnation on the ideology that is behind these terror attacks .... just (IMHO) mis-identification, diversion, and rationalisation. But Trump .... being Trump .... condemns it, contradicts those who try to rationalise it, points out their past comments, and .... horrors in the eyes of the media .... changes the narrative that they always put forward when these terror attacks occur. For those who hate Trump .... this is just more fuel to the fire on why he is irresponsible and why he should be replaced/impeached/removed/etc... For those who voted and support him .... overjoyed that he is addressing this issue that many feel has not been properly addressed for a very long time.
