Fortune: Google Passes on a $10 Billion Pentagon Cloud Contract, Citing Its New AI Principles

Google is pulling its bid for a $10 billion Pentagon contract.

The company was among several bidding to house government data under a project called the Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure cloud, or JEDI. But on Monday the company said it would not submit a proposal, citing displeasure with the terms (Google and other bidders wanted the Pentagon to split the contract among multiple bidders rather than award the whole thing to one) and uncertainty that the contract would align with Google’s A.I. Principles.

Interesting. Here is my theory, Google is a company filled with liberals. Mostly white males. White male liberals hate the USA, even though they are born here, they are filled with guilt and loathing about the USA, because of their indoctrination by the liberal media and the educational system, not to mention the liberal mores and values of the Silicon Valley in California.

I guess Google decided that their hatred of the USA is such they do not want to support the US armed forces in what they view as it oppressive mission of killing oppressed innocents around the world. They are cowards, in other words. The bologna about AI, etc, is just cover.

Makes no sense that Google will keep working with China, but pass on helping the U.S. military. The hypocrisy is unbelievable.

I understand that America has its own problems, but China is by far way worse in terms of how it treats people.

rod rammer "They are cowards" You have a different view of cowardice when you think killing innocents is a virtue. It seems to align with an attitude that everyone is an enemy.
Trained as a salesman, I was taught a stranger was a friend I had not met yet. I have no illusions as to which attitude has a better chance of setting off nuclear WMD firecrackers. It reminds me of a comparison of giving a shotgun to an orangutan. Not a safe occupation.
Cowardice ? Obviously an underappreciated attitude. I would say the coward is the one who is so paranoid he wants to shoot first - without restraint or guilt.
