China Is Not Interested In Doing Any Nuclear Missile Deal

Reuters: China rebuffs Germany's call for U.S. missile deal with Russia

MUNICH (Reuters) - China rejected on Saturday German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s appeal to join a Cold War-era arms control treaty that the United States accuses Russia of breaching, saying it would place unfair limits on the Chinese military.

Fearing a nuclear arms race between China, Russia and the United States after the collapse of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) treaty, which the United States is withdrawing from, Merkel made her call for a global treaty.

“Disarmament is something that concerns us all and we would of course be glad if such talks were held not just between the United States, Europe and Russia but also with China,” Merkel told the Munich Security Conference.

WNU Editor: Here is an easy prediction. There will be a day when China will make the decision to expand its nuclear missile forces. For those who support international treaties to limit nuclear missile forces, this is going to be a problem.

China does not want to play fair, that has been proven. They feel they deserve this thus they ignore global norms. Another reason Trump should make sure our military is strong!

Usa disregards any global norms and only does what benefits them. So why should China play fair? I don't see usa respecting any global laws.

The problem is not really here. That's true, not every country is respecting all the rules, but when it come to a "Hitler like" government, that's frightening and we don't have to make an other 1938 deal again, the cost is too much heavy.

What would you give China in return for disarming itself? Afterall, China built up its missile arsenal in response to the US sailing aircraft carriers through the Taiwan Strait in 1996.
