There Are Not Enough Votes In The US Senate To Dismiss President Trump's Articles Of Impeachment

The Hill: GOP leadership: There aren't 51 votes to dismiss Trump articles of impeachment

Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) told reporters on Monday that the Senate Republican caucus doesn't have the votes to dismiss the articles of impeachment against President Trump, who endorsed an "outright dismissal" over the weekend.

"I think our members generally are not interested in a motion to dismiss. ... Certainly there aren't 51 votes for a motion to dismiss," Blunt, the No. 4 Senate Republican, told reporters after a closed-door leadership meeting.

Republicans have warned for months that they will not dismiss the two articles of impeachment against Trump, predicting a trial will end with votes on either acquitting or convicting him.

But Trump revived talk of trying to dismiss the articles over the weekend, saying the Senate was "giving credence" to the allegations against him by having a trial.

WNU Editor: I would be surprised if they acquit. For the US Senate this will guarantee nonstop news coverage for weeks where all the Senators can show their seriousness and commitment to their job to their voters. When did a politician ever run away from that type of news? As for witnesses. I do not think that is going to happen. These proceedings are going to be tightly controlled, and having witnesses would only keep this affair going on forever.

Time for the House to begin talking about another impeachment process possibly involving emoluments.

Another Stall Tactic: Pelosi Sets Wednesday Vote on Impeachment Managers

What happened to today?

What happened to Monday?

What happened to last week?

Nancy told us this was an emergency and yet the bastard drags her feet.

Witnesses and documentation is necessary for a fair trial. Both parties have to stop stonewalling.

all possible witnesses and evidence to be presented since no guilt

The Democrats have had 4 years to collect information. They used the CIA, FBI, other foreign intel agencies, countless moles and they have nothing.

That Blackdog has any faith in Nadler's honesty does not reflect well on Blackdog.

Let's consider perverting the system and having more 'discovery'. The trial will lost longer than 3 weeks and all the candidates left will be kleptocrat Biden, billionaire Steyer and billionaire Bloomberg.

You have more discovery, I hope you get what you wish.

I have watched that fat fuck Nadler since the 1990s. He has not gotten better with age except for the gastric bypass surgery. He does not fill the entire screen anymore, but I think the damage is done. The atherosclerosis deprived his brain of enough oxygen so that Nadler is nothing more than a sinecured moron.

Schiff is beholden to Soros. If you believe Schiff, you believe Soros. Again it does not say good things about you.

The delays are part if the strategy. The longer the threat goes on the more unwound Trump becomes.

It is an old trick and has worn thin. We've seen to many data dumps on a Friday to either bury the info or to have an accomplice media make hay of it disingenuously.

Instead of a weekend, Nan used a Xmas break.

But how is it going that Trump numbers are going higher and are higher than Nan's or the media's numbers?

As Hans would say "Yuck it up fuzzball!"
