Purportedly Gates is a good card player. Seen no evidence. Some Hollywood stars play poker in tournaments . Gates has that type of money win or lose, but he does not play. So is Gates a great card player or is it an urban legend put out there to buttress claims of him being a genius?
Gates IQ is between 100 to 140. If it is 100, it makes Gates look like he won the lucky sperm club lottery. If it is 120 that is about the same as bright college students. If it is 140, that is masters degree level. Point is Gate's IQ isn't all that special.

A Masters Degree is definitely achievable for anyone with an IQ of 100 provided they are willing and able to put in the effort. Perhaps it doesn't need to even be that high depending on the University, the student, and the unique situations of each student.
As for Mr. Gates, my impression of him is he's definitely nothing special in terms of inate ability. He won the "sperm lottery" and has been bright enough not to screw it up!! If sticks to computer operating systems he's reasonably okay. When he deviates from this is where there's a problem. Unfortunately like most of our leadership class he's not nearly as bright as he thinks he is!! This is NOT to suggest he is dumb by any means.

I read that with a masters degree a person might be able to infer a IQ of 140. However the R squared was .60.

It's true. A Masters Degree and probably higher is achievable by a person with an IQ of 100 and probably less by anyone who has both the willingness and the ability to put the time and effort into it.
For some, life's demands make it impossible for them to invest the time and effort necessary to achieve this. Others don't have such demands bit are unwilling to make this effort. It's nothing to be ashamed of. It is NOT easy. I know what I post here is absolutely true. I can cite real world examples from my own personal experience.
